What's the craziest fanfiction crossover you've ever dreamed up?

And what drew you to that combination?

Note: this isn't nessicarrily about NSFW fanfiction, as I fully expect most NSFW fanfiction crossovers to lack in explanation beyond "It's hot". Be creative, think with the other head for five minutes even if it means dipping into an idea that's entirely SFW.

I'll start with the one that I'm currently fermenting in the basement:

Alright.

Get ready...

Yugioh x Moon Knight!

Yeah

I didn't expect it either. Having ADHD is like getting a front row seat to gods shower thoughts, so hear me out.

Both prominently feature Egyptian mythology. Both have personalities that can swap in and out. I got thinking Marc (a man who spends a lot of time chasing down an Egyptian knickknack with magical powers) would take an interest in the millennium puzzle and the plot basically writes itself from there.

I feel like this works and is filled to the brim with comedic potential. (Hence why I'm quietly working on it in my free time.)

I'm excited to hear what bizzare combinations yall have come up with.

How about Velma from Scooby Doo and Swamp Thing?

One day the Mystery Machine takes a trip to the bayou to investigate reports of a strange creature.

At night she grabs a flashlight and wanders into the dark to find out for herself. She finds out the truth, and has an unusual NSFW encounter. And it's not with Old Man Withers.

Fun! A little basic! But fun! Honestly Scooby-Doo has crossed over with so many things in canon that everything feels tame by comparison. Mystery incorporated has crossed over with everything from BATMAN to KISS (as in the band). Heck they've met John Cena the wrestler! Like. Google it. It is WILD.

You mean the Gods shower thoughts on you? Or did you mean the slower thoughts of the Gods? In any case it's an evocative description of ADHD, assuming you are not just being tongue-in-cheek.

The only reason I'm mentioning this is because I've actually written a lot of it as a screenplay a while back, and I may try it again as straight prose. I'm not sure if it even qualifies as a crossover as you are defining it. To be as brief as possible, it's sort of a comedy version (not a spoof) of Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House. Part of the plot involves Eleanor dreaming about various crime-thriller movies she has shown to the other people in the house (mostly through videotapes, since it's set in 1999 like the most recent movie version). At the very end Eleanor's life and one of the movie scenes overlap in reality. (Spoiler alert: Obviously, she is still alive, unlike her fate in all other versions.)

So what the hell is that all about? It does have some tangibility - it's not merely thoughts in my head, because I was able to write much of it. I guess it qualifies as fan fiction because it covers both Jackson's work and some movies that are completely unrelated to anything she ever did.

NSFW - not suitable for work? Because of copyright issues?

You may be interested in why I chose Jackson's work in the first place. One thing is the sexual subtext of the book. In the novel, Jackson comes as close as she can to saying that Theodora and Eleanor are romantically and sexually interested in each other without making it fully explicit. In my version (which is set forty years after the novel), all of that is out in the open.

The phrase "shower thoughts" refers to a very specific kind of thought. This article explains them pretty well (link)

"A front row seat to God's shower thoughts" as in getting to catch a glimpse of what dumb shit God thinks up in the shower. It's both a joke and somehow the most accurate description of what it's like to regularly have epiphanies about things nobody else cares about.

And that is actually really cool.

I am all for a story where Eleanor and Theodora actually do it. To stay on topic and to riff off already mentioned ideas, Velma (the one from the early 2000s Scooby Doo movie) shows up. NSFW stuff between Eleanor, Theodora and Velma ensues.

Well, NSFW is where my head goes when I'm here.

Starscream and Shehulk. An intergalactic bad ass vibrator and an increasingly frustrated indestructible woman. What could go wrong?

What does NSFW mean in this context? Copyright violations?

Sorry, no, I'm not adding anything from Scooby-Doo to this! :cautious: I wasn't that fond of that cartoon even when I was a kid. To reveal a bit more, Eleanor and Theodora don't do anything explicitly sexual at the house. They agree to meet for a date when they get home three weeks later (unlike in the book, they live fairly close to each other). I have some ideas for a sequel.

I asked that other person: what does NSFW mean in this context?

Thank you. In the 1999 movie, Theodora at the beginning mentions her "boyfriend and girlfriend" back in New York, but then I don't think anything is done with that premise for the rest of the film. The way I have it, they are discussed frequently and at least one of them shows up in the sequel. One of them is a younger straight man named Phil (Theo is actually his boss) and the other one is a slightly older gay woman named Carol. And, no, they have all met but they don't get together for threesomes.

Scooby-Doo has actually met Swamp-Thing, too! (Scooby-Doo! Team-up #40). Velma actually gets along really well with him, surprisingly enough.
