The battery you're addressing is the CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) keep-alive battery. It provides the power to retain your system BIOS setup information stored in CMOS memory when the system is shut down.Originally posted by Fly_On_Wall

My comp was loosing time once and i had to replace the something battery, (well i didn't someone else replaced it for me) but he said it looks like a watch battery and it's on the motherboard.
