Hey all! I just published a couple stories on smashwords!!

There's a thread at the top of this forum to announce Lit. authors' published works. We'd like to see a cover image if you have one too.

When you check the status of a story does that add to the views? I know there's a somewhat confusing answer in the FAQ section, but I was looking for a bit of clarification.

What do you mean by checking the status of a story? On your submission's page? You aren't clicking anything there, are you? If you click the pending button, your waiting time goes back to the beginning.

The "view" numbers you see mounting while the story is in pending appear to be a system's glitch. No, opening your submissions page won't increase the views (I'd done that and the views haven't gone up). And, no, I don't think the lone editor is opening your story that many times while it's in pending. It's just a computer glitch that the website hasn't explained, although people frequently ask what's going on. You are not alone in wondering.

At the same time, that thread is intended for authors who also have stories posted on Lit. I don't know how fussy Laurel is about others advertising their work there, but I did read a post where she had deleted the comment and her reason was what I just said.

I guess...."Live, READ STUFF HERE, and learn" is the new rule for me!!! :D

Another thread tells us that this poster has a story in the pending queue at Lit.
