I was at my son's ballgame tonight and I saw him do something that impressed the hell out of me!

This is a coach-pitch league he is in. The coach threw several pitches to him that were tight and inside, Cory had to step back a few times.

On the last pitch, he made an adjustment in his swing, pulled his hands in and hit the ball with an inside-out swing. Line drive the other way past the firstbaseman (he's a right handed hitter)

It was just a beautiful thing to see, him making the adjustment on instinct like that.

He's a chip off the old block Zammie baby. ;)

Not to mention that he's ADORABLE!! :D

How is The Cory-Mon?

He's doing great! He's been out of school now, for what, 2 weeks maybe? So summer is wonderful for him of course. He goes on vacation with him mother, they are going to see Mt. Rushmore I believe.

It's been clear to me that him and I are getting closer as time goes on, which of course love. We practiced baseball on Sunday for an hour! He was such a gamer and worked very hard. I didn't have to encourage him really all that much.

I'm always positive with him, and he responds very well to that.

It's not like it's hard to be his Dad! LOL...

He doesn't pout, he doesn't throw tantrum fits, he isn't loud and bousterous. You can take him to McDonald's or any nice resturaunt and he always behaves. He sit's quite through movies at the theatre.

He's eight year-old and he's sat through Lord of the Rings, 3 1/2 hours...twice! He enjoyed the movie, loved it!

The best part about being a Dad is having him for a son!

That says it all! You are a GREAT dad:)

Sounds great. I just hope there is another strike does not come up. Thats what really killed baseball for me when i was about 14 years old.

Its taken me until just last year to get into it again.

Oh I hear you! I take solace in the fact though that owners/players have done many things in the history of baseball to kill it, and have yet failed really.

Baseball may not be the American Pastime anymore, but it is, and always will be an enduring pastime!

Know what makes baseball so very different than any other sport?

It's the only game in which the defense has the ball.

Think about that...

Congrats Zam. Watching your child make his own adjustment like that is something to see.

There is another thing about baseball. The offense is one man, the defense is a team of nine.

Good point, never thought of that!

How about the lack of trash talkin' and dances in the end-zone!?

Show up the other team too many times, and you'll get a fastball in your ear the next time up to bat!

My softball(yeah i know not baseball but it is a coed team) game got rained out again yesterday. Hopefully we will be able to play tomorrow if it doesn't rain again. If we can't play tomorrow that will really suck since it is the last game of our little season here.

How about this: baseball is the only major sport that looks backwards in a mirror.
