just because you put on a uniform doesn't make you a hero. I have nothing but respect for those who do put it on but for the media and our government to call them all hero's is bull shit. If they are all hero's just for that than what do you call a person that with out regard for their own safety runs in to a burning building to save a life, or the guy or gale that troughs them self's on a grenade to save their platoon a super hero. The over use of any word just cheapens the meaning of it.
If asked any person in uniform would say that I'm not a hero.. Joe or Sam or Sarah or Sally are because they went above and beyond the call . if you asked them they would say they were just doing what anyone else would have done.
I salute all the hero's out there. If we are going to cheapen the word than that salute goes out to all the people that get up and go to work everyday to keep our country going . ty u all rdnson61

What does this have to do with waists??

I was going through my dad's old Army stuff and his dress uniform was folded in his footlocker. He had a 28" waist in the Army, for what it's worth.

Although you spell like shit and you need to attend the 3rd grade again to get a grasp on the English vocabulary, I agree with you. Being one of those that returned from two campaigns to USO organized receptions getting off a plane, I found it embarrassing. I am older than most of those servicemen and women who returned, but believe that they see through all this hoopla as well and don't see themselves as heroes. The real heroes are those that are recognized for valor through military awards. Just my thoughts.

Baby killer.

Is that better?

I am sorry to admit I do judge heroes by their waist. Thick-waisted heroes seem to me would move slower and be less able when called upon to perform in heroic situations.

That said, even the chubbiest fireman can care my narrow ass out of a burning building so, I'd still call him a hero if he did. Just not as heroic as the ones that can leap tall building in a single bound sort of heroes.

Older than World War II vets?

Older than World war I vets??

When my Grandad was conscripted they didn't call it that. It was just called "The Great War" at the time. He didn't make it over there before it ended, so he technically did not "return." He only managed to live from 1897-1976.

Whats the secret to your longevity?

it's sad. i actually agree that hero is an overused word like friend and so many others that have been lessened by dumb shits being idiots, but this shit is really fucking stupid.
