We're going to buy a country.

Each citizen of lit. is invited to invest in the purchase of a small central american country. The investment required is $50,000 US and the investment pool will be limited to 50,000 investors. The total is $2.5 billion US.

The funds will be deposited in interest bearing accounts while negotiations proceed.

The bare bones of the contract are thus. Upon recieving title, the US constitution and the "Bill of Rights" become the law of the land.

Each investor becomes a citizen, as does his/her immediate family.

Only 'citizens' may vote in elections and the indigenous population must apply for citizenship.

Lands will be distributed equally by estimated fair market value, any disputes will be settled by private treaty, lottery, or the courts if required.

The 'Company' will retain ownership of 80% of the available lands, but must make available 5% of the total annually to the highest bidder, funds to be retained by the 'Company' treasury.

Lands that are deemed sensetive or of some esoteric value (ie National Parks) will be surveyed and status determined by national referendum.

Sooooooooooooooooo.

Would you invest?

What ammendments to the constitution would you propose?

What other terms and conditions would you like to see in the contract?

Have fun building your own country gang.
