Here We Go Again

Back on subject, our Prov. gov't is batting around the same idea of leagalization and regulation. We have the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario), which handles all hard liquors and wines, while beer is sold from Brewer's Retail outlets, known as, The Beer Store. They want to start a MCBO and also have licenced cafes, like Amsterdam. During our brief legal period, the gov't saw the profitability of taxing it and the job creation of offshoot businesses.
Now of course, we have SpongeBob's cousin, Harper, as PM and he feels we need to be like the States and crack down on it instead. He knows he's out next term and figures the next PM can find a way to reverse, what he was too chicken shit to do himself.

Decriminalization does not increase rates of drug use

A new report by the U.K.’s “national centre of expertise on drugs and drug laws” says that drug decriminalization does not lead to an increase of drug use. In an article at Huffington Post, Columbia University epidemiologist Ernest Drucker argues that like alcohol prohibition, the “war on drugs” is doomed to fail and that prohibition measures like arrest and incarceration are forms of societal violence themselves.
