Becca was back after many years, her best friend never understood the reason she left, she didn't even say goodbye to him only leaving a note good thing she had a scholarship on the first train out it hurt to much to hang around but she was back after a rocky relationship and a singing stint in nashville. When she left he was dating his childhood sweetheart and that killed her for she loved him... but they were like family. It was raining when she knocked on the door and his girlfriend answered damn he was still with her... she sighed and asked for him, she was not the same gawky little kid he remembered when she left, she was 17 when she left now she was 23. Her hair was sticking to her she now had long flowing reddish brown hair dark green eyes and a body any man would die for...

Andrew had just lost a fight to his g/f...again! She drove him mad! And ever since Becca left he didn't really have anyone he trusted talking to. While Jade went to answer the door he sat there thinking about how miserable his life had become. Ever since Becca left. He had always thought of her as a sister, but ever since she had gone he felt a void that seemed larger than that. She was the most amazing person he had ever known, but she wasn't hot like some of the other girls, and thats all a horny teenager cares about. And since he was handsome to begin with...dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, the strong athletic body of a highschool stud...he could have any girl he wanted. And he picked Jade, the bitchy but incredibly hot cheerleader. Man he blew it!

Then Jade came in with a very dirty look on her face. "There's some girl at the door for you!" she said.

His first thought was, DAMN this girls hot, no wonder Jade's mad! Then after the intial once over, he looked into her eyes and realized who it was!

"OH....MY...GOD!!!", he said. He quickly invited her inside and got her a towel.

Becca had just broke up from a bad relationship, a abusive man and finished up her gig in Nashville.. and after seeing her family she decided it was time to face Andrew, her best friend.. the one she didn't even say goodbye to.. it began raining as she walked to his home about three doors down from her parents she had to gather her courage. Becca had grown into her looks.. she was always sweet to Drew it kind of reminded her of that country song Teardrops on my guitar.. she sighed and rang the doorbell.

Becca smiled seeing his girlfriend she remembered her.. but the girl probably didn't reconize her. She waited for Drew as she called him to come to the door

Becca noticed that Andrew didn't notice her.. damn it was the same.. but she never wanted him to notice her looks.

She smiled brightly but it was awkward with his girlfriend there. ''Thanks.'' She said and smiled.

Somehow Andrew was both thrilled to see her, and incredibly angry at her at the same time. He really didn't know what to say. The fact Jade was standing there didn't help. She was always jealous of Becca anyway. "Jade", he said, "im sure you remember Becca, could you give me and her a few minutes? She has a certain piece of shit note to explain". True as it was, he regretted saying that the second it came out. He could see the hurt in her eyes and the pain and humiliation she felt just having had to come back.

Jade leaves, and Andrew sits in a chair across from Becca. Staring at her with a scowl Jade would be proud of, he tries to remain angry at her. Trying to convince himself he should have no pity for her. And trying not to notice how beautiful she had become since she ran off.

Becca

Becca was't sure what was going to happen, all she knew it she was uncomfortable to say anything with Jade in the room. Jade had hated her since she got with Andrew.. she hated the fact that Andrew felt impelled to tell her everything but wouldn't even come close back then to telling Jade anything. Becca bit her lip and looked at the floor at his comment.. he was right that much was true, but that still wasn't making it any easier. She didn't like the fact he said it in front of Jade that was for sure.. but facts were fact he had to learn from a note when his own parents knew from her mouth that she was leaving.

The way Drew was looking at her nearly killed her.. she took a deep breath. ''I am sorry.'' Was all she could manage to say.. what was she going to say I left because it hurt to see you love someone that wasn't me. ''I should have told you myself.. but I didn't know how to say goodbye.'' she whispered gently.

Drew was being torn apart on the inside. He hated for how she just left and didn't say good bye. Yet he loved the fact that she was back. He couldn't think of anything to say. When she said that she should have told him, he nearly lost it. All the anger came back. "Yeah you damn well..." he stopped himself and shook his head. "Well, the least you can do is tell me why my best friend walks out of my life and just leaves a crummy note", he said. He didn't want to be mad at her, and he wanted to forgive her, and he was afraid the whole thing was somehow his fault anyway. He decided that once she told him why, whether true or not, he would forgive her and take her out to catch up. Jade wouldn't like that, but at this point he didn't care.

Becca looked at him and standing there she watched as he looked as if he wanted to kill her.. she didn't think he would be that upset that she left. ''I am so sorry Drew.'' She said gently she was the only one to ever call him that. She watched as he shook his head making her feel that much worse. What was her answer.. she couldn't tell him the truth. ''I got offered a scholarship.. and I didn't want to say goodbye to you.. I knew it would hurt to much.. I wasn't ready for that.'' She whispered and looked away. ''I know it wasn't the right thing to do.. and that I have no right now just to show up.'' She said tuning and looking at him once more.

He looked back at her. He had a hard time believing that it was easier to walk away than say goodbye. But he didnt want to be mad at her. He just stared at her a couple of minutes trying to decide what to do. Then Jade walked in and made up his mind for him.

"Jade, Im going to take Becca out for dinner. We have a lot to catch up on. If you don't mind, just put my meatloaf in the fridge."

After a private and heated conversation with Jade in the kitchen, Andrew walked back into the living room. "Where do you want to heat?", he asked, looking forward rekindling his friendship with her. Glancing at her a little closer than before, he wondered if kindling a little more than that would be a bad idea.

Becca knew she was lying and lying to Andrew was the last thing she had ever wanted to do.. but it was either get her heart broken or lose him forever and she couldn't bare either. She looked at him as Jade walked into the room she was imposing she knew that much, and Jade was still very pretty but lacked in the kindness and caring that Becca contained.

Becca smiled at Jade trying to reassure her, Jamie wasn't the type of girl to come between anyone.

She watched as him and Jade argued well listened actually and watched as he walked back into the room. ''Andrew I don't want to be the reason for you and Jade arguing.'' She was over all of that highschool behavior.

"Becca, believe me, you aren't the reason we're fighting", Andrew says before taking a glance back toward Jade and whispering, "We've been fighting for months". He looks at his feet, surprised at how easily he was trusting her again. He shouldn't, he knew that, but he wanted to so bad! "If your not doing anything for dinner, I'm kind of feeling like Italian. Although we should probably should get you some dry clothes. We unfortunatly don't have anything here," he says, the last part through clenched teeth. Jade easily could have let her borrow some clothes, but nooooo, Jade was so concieted she thought Becca wouldn't fit into them. As far as Andrew could tell though, Jade was bigger than Becca. Hell, Becca was probably prettier now also!

Andrew let that last thought go quickly as he headed toward the closet down the to get an umbrella. He couldn't believe he was thinking of her like that!

Becca

Becca felt bad that they had been arguing she loved Drew always would but she wasn't the homewrecking type didn't believe in breaking up someones relationship thats one of the main reasons she left town in the first place. ''Thats okay remember my parents only live three doors down.. and I am staying with them until I can rent a apartment.'' She said and smiled. ''If we walk there I can be ready in about 20 minutes or less.'' She said and smiled brightly at him as she looked him in the eyes.

Becca watched as Andrew went and got a umbrella from the closet as she looked at Jade in the kitchen seething, she never liked Jade but she didn't want to be the reason for her being angry.

Andrew walked back from the closet with an extra bounce in his step. Something in Becca's smile and eyes when she had looked at him, awakened something that had been sleeping for years. He had missed that smile and look so much. Something inside him told him he couldn't let her get away again. He wasn't sure how or when he would make a move, but he knew he didn't love Jade anymore, wasn't sure he ever had.

And this girl, Becca, was back in his life. The girl he had loved the most, even though it took her leaving for him to realize it.

He smiled at Becca as he came back, led he out the door and gave a half-hearted wave to Jade, who just glared back.
