It was another scorching day. Life here was so hard … NOT! Andrea giggled, thinking she never dreamed she could enjoy this level of chilling even on holiday. Her best friend Natalie was just awesome! As well as being clever and pretty, she was kind too, and let Andrea come over whenever she wanted to enjoy the pool. Brunette Andrea wasn’t as beautiful as blond Natalie, but she was slim with a nice figure, as they used to say, and certainly looked more than ok in her black lace bikini, the twin of Natalie’s.
Well actually, it wasn’t Natalie’s pool, it was her uncle Jack’s. He was some kind of former Olympic Athlete or something, all very cool. And not just because he was an Olympian. He was just cool! He let them do pretty much whatever they wanted. No, he did let them do what they wanted. They kept forgetting he was there most of the time. Not that they did anything bad. Its just he never interfered or hassled them. He was cool. And Natalie was really fond of him.
“Hey! Pass the sun cream!” she shouted, and Andrea threw it over … over her head, so it fell in the pool!
“Oh great!” she sighed, but Andrea replied, rather cleverly she thought, “But its waterproof, Natalie!” as if that fixed everything.
“Well so are you, so get in the water and fetch it!”
Natalie giggled, it sounded so like an order to a puppy, so Andrea put her paws together, wagged her butt, and scampered over. She had to get in the water, there was no way she could reach the bottom of the pool from lying on the side.
“But my bikini will get wet!” she whined, exagerating the complaining.
“Just do as your told, girl, go fetch!”
“Harumph!” Andrea replied, then slid feet first into the deliciously cool water, picking the tube of sun cream up with her toes, transferring to her hand and throwing it again at Natalie.
Of course she caught it, little miss perfect. And out Andrea got.
“I always seemed to do what she suggests,” thought Andrea. “What she tells me. Whenever we have a plan to do something daring, in the end it's me she orders to do the risky bit. It's always me. Oh well, it means I get to spend another summer by her Uncle Jack’s pool before going up to University. It was so exciting. And scary. What if something happens to screw it all up?”
Andrea did tend to worry about things that hadn’t yet happened, might not happen.
Her grades were ok. She might not be a scholar, but she had offers form a few good universities and had chosen her favourite. It was just a matter of surviving the summer, then off she would go, to the life of a student!
