Well I recently found out accidently after a needle prick I got cleaning up someones home I have hep c. I am not an iv drug user but the bottom line is I will spend the next 6 months in what by all accounts will be a living hell. I just learned today the man who got me sick died Jan. 20 this year. Anyone who has experiences with the side effects care to share? I am scared as shit but also know I am too pisssed off to let this get too me. I took my first shot and 2 pills this afternoon.

My aunt has had hep c for 25 years..got it through a blood transfusion... you just gotta watch what you put in your system now, don't put any strain on your liver that you dont have to... it's not a death sentence anymore... just a pain in the ass nowadays

Thanks, they did a liver ultrasound and am at 2.2 so Im well below any damage, but I was told there is a chance in 20 or so yrs. {I'll be 48 next week} if I dont treat now it may blow up bad. Prior to 1992 blood wasnt checked for it. May I ask your ant's age?

She's in her late 50's now.. and quite honestly is more at risk for diabetes then anything else

she suffers from bouts of fatigue and when she isnt caring for herself she gets a little jaundiced, but with treatment and getting back on a proper diest, she bounces right back

Hopefully, you qualify for patient assistance to help with the expensive Hep C anti-virals.

It would probably be a good idea to look in to counseling. Sounds like you've got a good fighting attitude and that will serve you well. But that's huge news to receive.

I'm sure your doctor will be a good resource person on what drugs metabolized through the liver you should avoid (I.e. Alcohol and Tylenol).
