Help?

If she's a girlfriend substitute you should give her a girl's name like Jane, or Denise or something.

Give me some insight into her personality my friend. Tell me what she's like.

I currently have six cats, yes a whole herd of them. The oldest is Smokey. (A Four Pound Calico) So named because of the gray in her fur and the fact she was rescued from a Crack House.

The second is BubbaShay. A big old boy of 17 pounds. (He is a reverse colored Seal Point Siamese.) We call him BubbaShay because he is just this big, goofy, friendly cat.

Next is Critter, or MommaC as we call her. A throw away who took up residence in our car port and had her kittens. A bit shy but always protective of her little ones. (Critter because she is still wild at heart.)

She is followed by Magellin, or Magi. A largish Black and white male he is always sticking his nose into something.

Scrapper. One of the twins, a smallish Calico. She is always wiling to get down and fight. A love bug at heart though, she can often be found curled up next to my wife on the couch.

Squeek. A love Bug plain and simple. She can find her way into the bedroom or into your lap no matter what. This little Love ug will often wake me about five minutes befre the alarm clock does by gently chewing on a finger, or by licking my eyelids.

*Snicker*
You would have to meet her. Talk about the Psycho Kitty from Hell.

They, the local Police, had busted the place the day before. I was walking past it the next day when I heard something inside. Looking through a window I saw this timy thing crawling around. I popped the window and scooped her up. She was small enough that she rested easily inside my jacket pocket. She came home with me and has been with us for something like 9 years now. I still think she sampled some of the droppd merchandise though.

She is in permanent withdrawl. Yesterday morning she was sleeping on my wifes pillowwhen the alarm went off. Instant attack mode. (I didn't blame her, I didn't want to get up at 0500 either.) I had to lift her, hissing, spitting and clawing away from the alarm clock so I could shut it off.

Funniest thing is, she will not attack the kittens or other cats. I have even dounf her curled up with one of the kittens, until she saw me looking in on her. Then she stalked away.

I have traditionally named my cats after wizzards and sorceress'. But I've used up all the best Sorceresses. So someone give me some names from books or movies for great sorceresses and help me name my pussy
Ahem! Pictures please!

And have you already used Medea? Strega? Tempest? Circe? Zora? Vivian?

All good magical names.

What about Rora? After all, Aurora can be pretty spellbinding. Just a thought.

That's very sweet of you, Rumple. Unfortunately, that's not the name of any sorceress that I'm aware of.

Erichtho

These sinful rites and these her sister's songs
Abhorred Erichtho, fiercest of the race,
Spurned for their piety, and yet viler art
Practised in novel form. To her no home
Beneath a sheltering roof her direful head
Thus to lay down were crime: deserted tombs
Her dwelling-place, from which, darling of hell,
She dragged the dead. Nor life nor gods forbad
But that she knew the secret homes of Styx
And learned to hear the whispered voice of ghosts
At dread mysterious meetings. Never sun
Shed his pure light upon that haggard cheek
Pale with the pallor of the shades, nor looked
Upon those locks unkempt that crowned her brow.
In starless nights of tempest crept the hag
Out from her tomb to seize the levin bolt;
Treading the harvest with accursed foot
She burned the fruitful growth, and with her breath
Poisoned the air else pure. No prayer she breathed
Nor supplication to the gods for help
Nor knew the pulse of entrails as do men
Who worship. Funeral pyres she loves to light
And snatch the incense from the flaming tomb.
The gods at her first utterance grant her prayer
For things unlawful, lest they hear again
Its fearful accents: men whose limbs were quick
With vital power she thrust within the grave
Despite the fates who owed them years to come:
The funeral reversed brought from the tomb
Those who were dead no longer; and the pyre
Yields to her shameless clutch still smoking dust
And bones enkindled, and the torch which held
Some grieving sire but now, with fragments mixed
In sable smoke and ceremental cloths
Singed with the redolent fire that burned the dead.
But those who lie within a stony cell
Untouched by fire, whose dried and mummied frames
No longer know corruption, limb by limb
Venting her rage she tears, the bloodless eyes
Drags from their cavities, and mauls the nail
Upon the withered hand: she gnaws the noose
By which some wretch has died, and from the tree
Drags down a pendent corpse, its members torn
Asunder to the winds: forth from the palms
Wrenches the iron, and from the unbending bond
Hangs by her teeth, and with her hands collects
The slimy gore which drips upon the limbs.

Rora wouldn't mean much but Aurora is the Goddess of the Dawn (as I recall) so that's not a bad name, especially if she is a morning person. I consider cats to be four-legged and furry people.

I wonder if they consider us two-leggered, furrless cats? Odds are, they do.

All cats share the same expression when looking at humans, one that says: "Man, that is one ugly cat."

I have a few assorted books of artwork, one of which is the Susan Seddon Boulet collection, 'The Goddess Paintings'. A random selection from that book, which wouldn't sound too silly applied to your feline friend, appended. Okay, they're goddesses rather than sorceresses!

Astarte? Ancient Phoenician Great Mother Goddess
Hebe? "Youth"
Hera? Goddess of marriage; protector of children
Inanna? Ancient Sumerian mother goddess
Ishtar? "Giver of light"
Kaltes? Moon goddess - Ugric people of Siberia!
Lilith?
Minerva? Roman goddess of war and wisdom
Pele? Hawaiian volcano goddess
Persephone?
Psyche?
Rhiannon? Welsh great goddess
Sedna? Eskimo - source of all norishment
Selene?
Themis? Mother of the Fates
Thetis? Greek sea goddess of fertility
Unelanuhi? Cherokee sun goddess

I have to say, thinking of the damage a kitten can do, I would be tempted by Pele, but I do like Polgara. Or Aphrael. Or Sephrenia.
