Help With strep

Wow, I didn't realize this was a common thing...
I'll clean up the bathroom etc. once I'm positive the antibiotics have fully killed the bacteria. I have my suspicions it's the bathroom.
Either that or the bin I used to transport my toothbrush et al. into the bathroom to be used.
I know it's strep. First of all mono would have a higher fever, but also because when I went back the first time (after the quick strep A test was negative) because I wasn't getting better, they did a culture and strep grew out. I never knew that up to a third of the quick test are false negatives and mouthwash can cause one, killing enough of the easily accessible strep to fool it, I guess...
From now on if I can bear the three days wait I'm going to ask for a swab and culture. And if they do the test and I think it's false I'm going to get a culture too.

Been there, done that..... Found out later that the secretary where I worked had five kids and was a friggin carrier...
This was all while in good general health and in good shape too...
Three consecutive cases later........

First step...FInd a better Doctor... By the time you get locked into having strep for the second or third time, you are in danger of certain other problems ..... IE...Having a milder case that will go undiagnosed and lead to Rheumatic fever before it can be found...
Biaxin is fine....If you are three..... Repeated infections with Strep generally call for something a bit more drastic... Also if you are an adult and they are using Biaxin ...There is a good chance that it is simply not killing the infection.

Ditch everything... Wear contacts? Heat sterilize permanent ones, ditch the others... Wear your glasses till the infection is GONE..
Ditch lip balm, lipstick, nose spray, EVERYTHING ..that you used while you had the infection... Yes, it's expensive...but how much does it suck to have strep???
Keep your hands to yourself... If someone insists on a shake..Tell em you have a cold and are contageous... If they still insist *shrug* they'll live..Honest, they will.
No huggies..No smoochies...
Oh....Wash your coat, scarf, hat etc etc etc....Take em to the laundrymat and use a real detergent...

I don't really have an opinion as far as the herbal supplements go.... But you will always be money ahead to..
Get plenty of sleep...
Eat right..(not vitamins or mineral supplemants...if you eat correctly you shouldn't need them)
Get/stay in shape..
If nothing else the above will make you feel better overall, and it will help your body resist infection...Or deal with it when it occurs.
It's easier to stay healthy than to get healthy.

From the sound of a couple of your posts you might have some other things going on also... They will weaken you system to some extent ..Part of the "better Doctor" thing is that they should be handled as quickly as possible.. If you have had a piercing and are noticing re-occurring rashes ....Even if you are SURE that there is NO chance..Have em run the test for both Staph, and Hepetitus... I know, prob not, but it might not hurt to be REALLY sure.

Oh...one other thng...You can have "Mono" for a long, long time...And never know it... All the while it's eating your liver...
I have an aquaintance that has a liver the consistency of a sea sponge because of Mono'.
To say the least he has to be careful about drinking etc....
All because it went unknown for too long..
He is 26 now.

When I was 17, I had a "mono like" disease. They tested and tested me for mono because they just knew that's what it was. It never tested out as mono though. So they kept giving me B-12 shots and eventually I was able to go back to doing everything again but it really put me down for a while. They never did figure out what it was.
