Help with series order

Hello, authors.

I have a strange issue with my "Saturday Nights in the Dorm" series where the chapters aren't lining up. Beginning with the end of chapter 3, when readers are prompted to advance to the next chapter they are moved ahead to 5, instead of 4. This continues on subsequent chapters, with the right chapter being skipped and readers sent two spots ahead.

I've messaged Laurel and nothing has happened. I've tried to manually reorder them and it doesn't resolve.

Has anyone run into this before? Thoughts?

When did you send the message? She's quite busy.

Is the series manually created? How long has it been since you submitted the order change?

For one series, I had to delete it entirely and then recreate it to make the order come out right.

This seems like a weird bug. The series page shows all chapters in the right order, including chapter 4, and so does your profile page. It’s only the switchers in chapter 3 and 5 that don’t go to the right place.

If messaging Laurel doesn’t work, what I’d try is to make the series manual and then reorder ch. 4 with the next or previous one temporarily and then back again. Hopefully that would fix it.

The downside is that you’d need to remember to add any subsequent chapters to the series when you submit them for publication, since it won’t be done automatically anymore.

This was not meant to offend. Simply listing the steps I'd already taken. Much of the advice on the forums is to message Laurel. Trying to avoid those responses in favor of alternatives.

I'm sorry if I gave the wrong impression. I was literally just asking the question, because some people expect to get an answer within a few minutes.
