Help with reporting

This is going out to all chyoosters who are tired of threads that don't make sense or do not have anything in them. Report them so the moderator can either delete the thread or edit it.

As the saying goes, "Been there, done that, got the T-shirt." I report several such threads. Not only do I see them still there months later with no actions seemingly taken, but the same people are writing near-identical threads in other places in other (or the same) stories.

Isn't this more a responsibility of the editor of each story? I know if someone had a problem with something in one of my stories I would much rather have them tell me then report it and have it taken away without my knowledge. I think editors should at least be given a chance to fix it. Better yet they could have not let a bad thread go up in the first place. But I still feel it should be brought to the editor's attention first.

Sometimes editors are too busy/lazy or just don't feel like doing it. I keep hearing people complain about the crappy threads, so i thought i would just post a thing. By the way, TJ i looked at the reported threads in the moderator menu and its empty, so someone must have looked at it.
