Help with People Searches

I have need of assistance please. I have not heard from my brother in over a year. We have no idea where he is or what he is doing.
No, I am not going into details, but...
here is where I need help. Has anyone here used an internet search to find someone? if so which one and was it successful?
I don't mean the free ones, but a real search. It is important I find him relatively quickly.
I tried the red cross and they were not successful, though honestly, the lady didn't seem to care. Might go back and try again with more determination.
