ok i've been having some problems with the lit how to forums.
not sure why but heres whats going on.

I havent been on this site long so not sure if i have a setting set up wrong.
But when i come to the how to section, it shows no new posts. it takes me to the ones i posted on this morning. But when i click "Last" to go to the last page, and then "First" to go to the first, theres a bunch of new postings. and it doesnt show any of mine.
i even went to my profile, clicked "Find all posts by user", it shows that i've posted but i click on them, theres no post?
whats up with this and how do i fix it?

thanks.

i just went n double checked this post, i still have to go to the last page and back to the first in order to see it. I checked another post i did this morning, and still cannot see it. It says Sweet Erika posted on it since i have, and i cant even see her new post.
This is getting annoying, i havent been on this site long and if i'm already having this many issues with it, whats the point in coming back?

You're only having this issue with the How To forum, not any other forums?

How are you accessing the forum, through the main lit forums page, a bookmark, or some other way?

Does it show up the same when you access it through the main lit forums page (or this link) and refresh the page?

My suggestion would be to check out your Thread Display Options on this page in your User CP options.

Mine are set as the following, and everything displays fine:
Thread Display Mode: Linear - Oldest First
Number of Posts to Show Per Page: Use Forum Default
Default Thread Age Cut Off: Use Forum Default

If you set it to those options, save the changes and it's still not working, it may be the forum skin you're using. At least at some point, some were unstable and caused weird things to happen. Try using one of the skins above Imagize-Fixed, if you're not already doing so. You can change the skin at any time from that same page or by selecting from the dropdown box at the very bottom left of just about any page.

And if you make changes that don't seem to take effect, try logging out, clearing your Lit cookies, closing your browser, then logging in again. Sometimes that works for various problems.

I'd advise seeing how this goes first. There are probably some other solutions for you if it doesn't work.

If you like the forums, then it's worth some time and effort to try to fix it.

If you see the forums as a waste of your time in general, then you're right, there's really no point in working on it or coming back. I'm guessing that's not the case because if it were, you probably wouldn't bother starting this thread or getting irritated about it - you'd just leave.

I will tell you that this is generally a stable system, and for the number of members and operations, there are a tiny number of problems. And many of the problems people have are self-inflicted because they didn't set up their options correctly, take time to read the FAQs and stickies or observe the way things work, try to figure stuff out, etc. Once in awhile there's a problem with the actual system; maybe some info got scrambled when a user was registering or whatever (e.g. users who have a join year of 1969 registered when the database was undergoing upgrades). But that's pretty rare, and most problems are fairly easily solved with a little finessing and some patience. :)

i come in through literotica.com and click the bulliton link.
I clicked the link you suggested and it still comes up through that. i checked my settings and from what i see they are identical to yours.
i dont know how to delete the cookies? My brother n law normally does that for me.

i got it.
not sure what i did but i was changing all kinds of settings and apparently clicked the right buttons but its back to normal.
thanks erika.
