Help with GIMP

i want to have the glass text effect in a photo. i use gimp, which is a freeware photo editor on linux. Any ideas will be most appreciated.

Did you google 'glass text gimp'? When I did, I found tons of tutorials. Browse through those to find an example of what will work best for you, and follow the instructions. The fourth result looks pretty good, and there's even a youtube video tutorial.
