Help! Totally Mystified by Lit's response.

I, like someone else, have just had my story rejected, reason given, excessive violence. This has totally mystified me, as an editor on Lit myself I was unaware of any shift in Lit's policies. I've taken a second opinion on my story and they are as baffled as I am as to why my story should have been rejected on the grounds of excessive violence. I admit, there is some violence, but this is in keeping with the plot and not in our opinion excessive.

I need an experienced editor to take a look at my story please. It is grammatically correct without spelling errors, so all I need is a third opinion and some advice if you can see where my story might contain excessive violence. Please PM me if you are able to help?

Thank you to those who replied to my SOS. Following the advice from the two editors who reviewed my story, I have resubmitted it with a note stating that they found the level of violence tame and not inappropriate to the story. Fingers-crossed!
