I am looking at getting a computer, router thingy, a printer/scanner, and TV. The problem is that I know crap about anything. I haven't plugged in a TV for myself since the rabbit ears came standard on the set, let alone computers. Has anyone dealt with Best Buy? Is the Geek Squad good or bad? Any help appreciated.

Welcome to the 21st century. Geek Squad is okay but not necessary. Not for hooking stuff up. Just follow instructions. If comp/router/scanner/printer does not connect/talk with one another proper then maybe call them. See if they have a deal what with you buying one of everything.

Wireless router?

Software stuff is way harder than hardware.

Is there a 13 year old in the 'hood who needs $20?

Those fuckers might be fine for software, but don't ever let them mount anything.

The only rational thing to do in that situation is to surrender, roll over, and present your ass to whatever thing technology might deem worthy of penetrating it, which ain't much, and you can well endure it even though you shouldn't and of it you should die of shame, which you won't, and more's the pity.

Some teenager will have it all set up in a few minutes. Find a gaming geek/nerd.
