This is a real pisser, and I hope someone can help. My printer has suddenly decided to print everything as MIRROR IMAGES. Everything. &^&^$^%#*&^%$@!!

When I'm printing text, I can go to the "Properties" thingie under print setup and change it, but I have to do it EVERY TIME. I always click on "Default" after I change it, but it comes back every time.

My digital camera came with Kodak "Easyshare" software. It works just fine, but there's no opportunity to change the printer setting, so I get the )(*&(*%*$!! mirror images of the graphics.

I'm using a cheap HP setup with the HP 610 printer and all the HP software. It all worked fine until now, and I'm tired of holding things up to a mirror. Anyone know how I can restore righteous printing as a default?

Pps. HELP!!

Oh dear dear.

Never had mine do that love, mine's HP 640c about the same sort of beasty though.

Have you tried deleting the whole printer shooting match and reloading the drivers and all such from the HP CD. This in therory will give you a fresh start, if the prob persists the printer pcb or internal chips may have been fried somehow. Software drivers need to be refreshed every so often with a new install they do get screwed up in use.

You can remove the printer set up in control panel add/remove progs. Then reload it. Hope this is of assistance dear.

edited to add, it might be the camera software fucking with the HP drivers. No dear not sexual fucking, dohhh

That happened to me once, but it was on a college printer, and I don't know how they fixed it. It printed text out in mirror as well..

Raph, being unhelpful, as ever.

Mirrored prints...

Isn't that what some printers do when printing on OH-sheets? If you have some other programs running, (Word or whatnot) they could be nuding the printer settings back to whatever suits them best eveytime you blink.

Happened to me once, and it droveme crazy until I found out that the page setting in a cad program was set on tansparent paper. And look where I ended up. Dangerous stuff that.

Thanks, all. Unless I get a better suggestion, I think I'll go with Pop's idea. Hate to go to all that, but it's better than using a mirror. Leonardo Di Vinci would have loved my printer.

Pps. No it wasn't the earthquake, and it isn't the camera software.

Maybe the mirror image is correct, and everything else is backwards.

You need to go directly to the printer driver setup (control panel -> printers -> setup) and turn of the "Transfer" option.

Something has set your printer driver to print for transfer paper, like you would use for making T-shirts, as the defult. When you click on defaults, it resets the driver to the transfer paper settings which it thinks are the defaults you want to use.

It might be as simple as changing the default paper type back to A4 from "Tranfer Paper."
