-grumbles-

I need to be motivated! I am tired, my body hurts, and moving is painful.

And I need to pack. Before this weekend. Still have about 50% of the living room... all the bedrooms (no place to move it TO yet), all the clothes, part of the bathroom....

-sighs-

Ok, so, I need motivation so that I can get my ass up, off the CPu, and packing more!

Whoa!

I may be horribly mistaken, but isn't there some sort of impending babyhood going on with you? What the hell are you doing up running around and packing and stuff?

Make some calls..get some help. Bring in the Gilly Posse! :)

i bet you can go get yourself some ice cream and cake if you finish packing.. but not until then ;)

I wish... as it stands, we are moving into my Mother-in-laws house, and she is moving out. She has until friday to be out. She has yet to do more then 4 or 5 of her own boxes. As it is, we spend nights after work there, packing her shit for her (wah, I work all day, my feet hurt, I can't do this aloooooone), cleaning, cause I know she won't, and moving it all over to her new place.

She keeps SAYING, you shouldn't have to do this, your pregnant, we just need to get you in before the baby is born! BUT... she has yet to actually DO any of the work herself. The carpets all need to be cleaned. She is a VERY heavy smoker (boarders around 2 and a half packs a day), and all the walls are literally orange with nicotine, so they all need to be scrubbed down. The back bedroom was never used as one, it was the biggest, so they used it as a second living room. However, in the last 2 or 3 months, they havn't used it at all. The cat they don't like or want has. It smells like cat piss. The bathroom attached to it, they have had the cat in for about 3 weeks now, so we could gut and clean the bedroom. The carpet in there is now shredded in spots. The litter box in there was NEVER changed, and there is cat litter ground into the carpet, along with cat pee and poop. She volunteered to clean that room. Her idea of cleaning? She picked up the litter box, and the chunks from the floor, and got rid of the cat. The rest of it she left for us to do. Her vacuum doesn't suck anything up, and the floor is just covered in litter, which I can't touch....

-growls- That woman pisses me off to NO end! All this time, she hasn't done anything herself. She has let us do it all, knowing full well, we have to be out of here by the 15th, but still have to pack, move the furniture out, and clean the place. The new peoiple are moving IN on the 15th, but the landlord wants to examine it first, to make sure we didn't trash the place, and that has to be done before the 15th, so that gives us this weekend basically to do ALL the moving, of our place, and the rest of the shit in hers. Then, spend all next week cleaning.

If I had the baby now, we would be SO screwed. Cause I wouldn't be able to pack. Or help move. Does she care? Not bloody likely.

Extreme times call for extreme measures.

Gilly,
I think it's time you got yourself a moving service and a cleaning service. I know it'll cost some money but, lacking any more help than you have, I'm not sure how you're going to make it. Given the condition of the new house, a cleaning service may just be the only thing that'll get the place clean enough to be habitable. And the extra stress and physical labor just isn't good right now.
Just be careful, and pace yourself, mentally and physically, is all I'm saying.

i agree with that.. and i'll say that if you are intent on doing some of this stuff yourself, then you should pack your own things and clean your own house, not your mother in law's.

and besides.. you dont want to be all stressed out when the baby does come, do you?

Moving

Darling,

If you are in Texas i can help. I am big and strong and can move your things and give you a massage to take them aches and pains away. <wink> Vinny

Good Luck w/ the Nicotine stains

Friends of mine bought a major fixer-upper a fews years back, the previous owner was a heavy smoker- walls/ceilings stained...they scrubbed 'em down, pur a couple coats of base paint down, popcorned the ceiling...the nicotine stains seeped thru- they had round stains of various sizes on the ceilings in the rooms where she must have done most of her smoking...the walls were fine- but the ceilings...don't know if it had anything to do w/ the popcorn stuff, or maybe it was harder to clean than the walls.

BTW, where is you MiL moving to? At least she won't be living w/ you guys!

Gilly,
I feel for you. I was venting in another thread about packing and moving.
Ah well, things could be worse. Ok now. Get to work! ;)
