Let me get this right. You joined Lit sometime in the past 23 days, have read a story and now lost track of it. I see.

When did you read this story. Your discription fits about 40,000 stories posted on lit.

LOL, JJ. I'm surprised you bothered to respond.

Oh, lucky guy. He asked for help and got the response from both bitches on Lit.

Don't judge a book by its cover.

I know Cloudy and JJ can come across a bit feisty at times but, as someone who doesn't know them other than through these boards, can I give you a word to the wise.

They both spend a great deal of time editing, critiquing and generally supporting new writers. That's a deal more than most of the 'old hands' on this site do. They actually seem to care.

If they get a bit frumpy when the same question is asked for the squillionth time and the dude hasn't taken the effort to research a bit, it's just like your Creative Writing professor smacking you down - when you deserve it.

Before you badmouth these guys, go back and see what they have done to support newbie writers. I think you write good, I just hope as you get settled here, you'll be prepared to devote as much time and effort to people who ask for it, like the 'bitches' you slag off. I know who I would prefer to get to beta-read my story.

I'm no stool pigeon, but I've just seen lately some quite nasty stuff that is totally unjustified. If people like Jenny and Cloudy walk away, as I would in their place, where are the newbies going to get help, support and encouragement from?

Never bite the hand that feeds you.

Sorry for the rant, but you got me real cross.

*sigh*

I never meant it that way. It was supposed to be a sarcastic comment...in a good way. I'm really fond of both of them. The "bitches" was because of their banners. I'm actually asking cloudy to edit my first story.

Should have worded it differently. *sigh*

FatDino -25 Litdollars

Treasury +25 Litdollars

No need to fine her, Jenny. I already took care of it.

LMAO...

I thought the Treasury already had +25 from the last time you charged?

BTW, can I swing it 'til mid May? I won't get paid 'til then.

Dino. don't!

If cloudy's editing your story, you know exactly what I mean.

We're a bit of a club here, we forgive everything except those wanting to destroy the little huts of friendship we try to erect. And we welcome newcomers - with apassion.

Sorry, you're right. Maybe we should find another banker.

"No, don't be silly, Figaro, you're doing a great job."

Okay, I'll stay. Thanks.

I know.

I know.

And I know. ;)

But still, I already asked. :D Worse yet, she already agreed.

So now I'm running spelling and grammar check after every page.

Did I get my Litdollars back then? Or did the treasury already give them away?

Toot, despite the squabbling (ignore the internal power struggles), your question remains unanswered.

Perhaps if the writer frequented the forums they'd respond. But many writers choose to write, and not politicize.

I do hope you're a newbie and not some Lit guru stirring the pot, as I suspect might be the case. If not, all the better.

I think you misunderstood some posts. There wasn't any squabbling or powerplays, other than you posting that your story was the best on Lit, and not identifying yourself as the author - which, to give you credit, you edited out.

Stop trying to stir stuff up yourself.

Actually, someone did answer the question, tentatively. About the fifth reply.

Bozos were so interested in stiring shit up, they didn't bother to read, Starrkers

I'm still trying to get over the shock of opening the Bulletin Board and reading 'Help Please - by Jenny Jackson'.

For a moment I thought the Pope had become Jewish. :D
