Check out Guy Gavriel Kay's Fionvar Tapestry trilogy:
Summer Tree, The
Wandering Fire, The
Darkest Road, The

The plot is very similar to WOT, but he completes the story in three volumes.

L.E. Modesitt,jr is also a very good writer esecially the Magic of Recluse and Spellsong Cycle series.

The thing I like most about Robert Jordan's writing is the way he scatters clues to future events through all of the books. There's things foretold in volume one that he has yet to write about.

<grin> I did say at "least" 14 times. ;*) Hehehe, actually I try to read the later books more often that the newer ones to try to compensate for the tendency to read the older ones more than the newer. <lol> Not that it really matters. I'm guessing we're simply two helpless fanatics no matter which way you cut it. Three including Jade. So my question to you is this, what book is your favorite? Book six has to be one of my fav's right now.

Speaking of which, I bet I can guess what book is your favorite Jade. In fact I bet I can name your favorite chapter of that book. So my question to you is this, "why didn't you chose the handle Tylin?" ;*)
