Hello, I'm new to the forums so please bare with me. A story I wrote and published on Literotica on the 3rd of Dec, has apparently been stolen and posted on another website. Any ideas on what I should do? I wouldn't really care that it has been moved to another site except that they have taken credit for MY work. Help is much obliged.

Here is the site that has stolen my work.

Seems like a lot of stories have been published over there, mine included. They didn't even bother to remove my author's note, which included my name. Fuckers

I just cruised through their gay selections. Pretty much the entire category has been lifted from here.

They are begging for Facebook and Twitter "fans" so we should give them what they're asking for. Post to their Facebook page and tweet the world about them. And don't forget to mention their "ethics." ;)

Yep, they have the most recent ones of mine in both this account name and in another account name. They both have already had their runs in the marketplace and I've profited from them. As I've said before, I think the secret is to get any profit out of them before posting them to Lit. Once there, they are going to be swiped and spread across the Internet. That's an inevitable result of posting them to a premier story site. Get your mileage out of them first--and think of them as renewable resources. *Shrug*

It looks like they've stolen none of my pieces.

I am depressed.

Well... I was chuckling at Hypoxia and Zeb's response and about to add my own when I thought why not, I'll see if they took my work... they have my second series. I'm amused.

I guess it's time to put copyrighted at Lit notices on my chapters.

tip: if you bury it somewhere in the middle of the story, they're less likely to spot it and remove it. This is how I found out somebody had stolen one of mine and put it up on Amazon.

Smashwords are good at taking down work which has been plagiarised, Amazon less so and I'm not sure about this site. If there is a lot of work which has been lifted, it may be the site doing it?

Like Hypoxia's, my work never gets plagiarised :(. I can't understand it, you'd think they would be gagging for werewolf-puts-on-a-condom stories.

It's important to take action and proceed as suggested in the sticky above, which Oggbashan highlighted. We have also previously left comments on stories to say they are plagiarised. Going on Facebook and Twitter to do this in numbers could also help.

Check the third part of the author notes at the beginning of this one. Pretty much tells the entire story of where this so-called website's material is coming from.

P.S This story is solely written and published by TheAnonymousFan here at www.literotica.com, and if you as reader have found this story elsewhere, I would appreciate it if you could contact me here on Literotica, or report it to the host on that site. Thank you very much.

Says the website operator aint none too smart either. ;)

"Dream Studio © 2015 literotica.com" is also at the bottom left corner of their site. I guess that's an attribution to Literotica?

Also the site looks like a Wordpress creation. :D

I didn't notice that before.

Just a hunch, but I bet Kitty Mama is *not* going to be a happy camper when she sees that.

I checked. They have none of mine.

But I did a search for "copyright oggbashan".

Apart from Literotica and a few other places that have my permission, my stories apparently are popular on bot-infested sites such as Anal Fisting Japanese Teenagers.

Oops! Site is no longer there! Host must have taken it down at the first sign of trouble.

The Twitter ( and I would assume, the Facebook page ) going down as well actually reeks of the person running the site blanking it out. Neither of the social media pages were a huge loss, because they had almost no followers.

Blank out the page for a few days, keep loading the database in the meantime, and then relaunch once you think nobody is looking.

I'd say keeping an eye on that URL is a good idea.

If the host ISP received a number of DMCA complaints they might switch the site to a blank page until the domain holder responds to the complaints. I've seen it done that way.

Of course if an upload screws the pooch, you also get the blank page or a 404 page.

It's the removal of the social media accounts that make me suspicious it's a duck-n-cover maneuver.

Taking the initiative

It has occurred to me that if pirates are going to steal the lit stories wouldn't it make sense if Lit itself developed some kind of facility to sell those interested authors (who otherwise do not sell for profit) - effectively to get in first. The stories could come back to Lit after they had done their commercial dash. It would not be too long, the stories have a short 'shelf' life.

Perhaps Lit doesn't have the necessary skills - but they have published a hardcopy anthology in the past which in principle ain't that different.

Or would that be too radical?

PS. I saw a Caspian tern on the beach in Sydney this morning.
