yea, I'm soooo busy that my major difficulty is trying to narrow down the current movie choices out there right now for tomorrow's viewing. It's between the following:

Royal Tennenbaums (sp?)
Mullholland Drive
Gosford Park
A Beautiful Mind
Orange County

I'm conflicted. Anyone seen any of the above and want to give a critique?

Tenenbaums is my choice, Beautiful Mind if the mood strikes, O County is awful, Jack Black or not, Mulholland is all about the ending and interest is lost at that point...Crash was better, G Park is better suited for video unless Altman is your bag.

Of course I havn't seen a single one.

I'll take some M&Ms(peanut) and a Coke.

orange county wasn't as funny as it should have been.

the royal tenanbaums was funny, dark and really bizzare.

a beautiful mind was good but a little slow at times. i liked it a lot though.

mullholand drive was AWESOME but you have to be into david lynch to dig it i think.

hope that helps a little

About Mulloland drive

I cannot and will not tell you much about this movie. As James Berardinelli put it:

"...the two lead female characters remove their clothing and spend most of the final 40 minutes topless

I'm leaning towards the Tenenbaums. And, will you sit real close and whisper funny shit in my ear and make me giggle during the flick? ;-)

Sexi- I am totally into David Lynch. He's one fucked up dude.

98

I vote Beautiful Mind
that is only if you have seen already LotR:FotR

do you ever

not go see a movie because you hate the actor/actress? Well, hate is a pretty strong word.. maybe just despise? heh

I'm not a huge Russell Crowe fan, but I've heard his performance is pretty amazing in this recent film.. so ok, but I'll probably wait for the dvd.

Gwyneth Paltrow. Ugh. I just don't like her. But I'll suffer through it for all the other wonderful actors in Tenenbaums. Ben Stiller has been a fav. of mine since the Fox "Ben Stiller Show" way back when.

David Lynch is just - he's just a fucking freak. lol. I was hooked on Dark Shadows for the entire run and have seen most of his stuff. Maybe if I stayed up for 48 hrs straight I'd get the meaning?

Polanski? Give me a title

How does Polanski compare to Fellini?

Never seen a Felini flick so I can t comment on him..
ButI have seen a polanski flick and man is he fucked up..

Wear that black skirt so I can keep my hands and mouth busy.

Re: David Lynch. I have been told that Mulholland feels like Lynch making 'Lynch style' film, that its disingenious at times. Seriously though, Crasg is his underrated masterpiece. The 'cool blue' cimematography is chilling when Holly Hunter goes over the edge amidst the center console.

ben stiller isn't very "ben stiller like" in the royal tenanbaums. i liked the flick but imho it wasn't worth the 8 bucks.

I love Gene Hackman

...but was disappointed in the Tenenbaums. Geno was Primo, as usual, but I was expecting more laughs and less "what the fuck is that all about?" It was dark, Waaaay dark. Probably a great rental.

Had I known it was a semi-funny bizarro family dysfunction movie, I would have picked something else.

thanks - rotten tomatoes? Never heard of it

I used to go to a movie review BB on Bianca ages ago and it was filled with interesting tidbits and commentary on old - recent films. I miss that.

And Modesto? You mean the short black skirt that has a slit up the front left thigh? You got it. :)

Sexi- Stiller is Stiller in whatever form. Why can't I bear his children? (oops - wrong thread - meant to post that under the Todd-O-Vision one)

Thats the one, with the crisp white blouse, left unbuttoned low, bra a bit too dark to be concealed.

Tenenbaums dark? Did you see Rushmore? Same director, writers, etc. Rushmore was the greatest pathos laden comedy of the last ten years, it may be the only one.

how did you miss this? In every trailer I've seen of the film I understood what to expect. Did you see it that early? :)

Screw all those movies and go see Black Hawk Down, if you don't mind gore. I just finished the book and want to see the movie.

Thats what I hear but Rushmore is a special movie, it would have been difficult to capture that vibe again, its truly unique.

Its the only movie soundtrack i own and the score by Mark Mothersbaugh stands on its own but never fails to recall teh lunacy of the film

I think you should make the trek to my house, and wathc a home movie wtih me, course we'll have to make it first, but it'll be fun! :p
