Help me out -- animated smilies???

LL, Gil & some others have been p9osting some really COOL looking action smilies that are not in the legend. Is there a web page that I can go to to learn how to do these? I have been surfing the net for the past 3 hours & can't seem to find anywhere that tells me how to do them. Anyone willing to share the secret??? PLEASE!!! E-mail me the site or whatever...thanks

the animated smilies are gifs (I think) and are added to the reply with UBB code

Most likely they are being made by the original poster on a software program like Adobe After Effects or Web Painter

Something for all the animated smiley lovers to think about. I think there's a connection between the proliferation of animated smilies and 500 errors.

All of those external graphics (those not on the same server as Literotica.com) have to be dragged over the net to get displayed in the messages. That takes time and bandwidth on literotica's server.

Sometimes an animated smiley is just the expression you want to portray. In that case go ahead and use it. If it's just cute and/or you want your smilies to bonk like Renee's then fight down the urge to include one.

Harold, I use the smilies on another board - that's where I found them - and despite the fact that there's some threads where people have done nothing but try out various ones to see how they look/work, I've NEVER hade a 500 error on that site. Some servers can handle more things simultaneously than others. The one Literotica is on is stretched to it's limits. (that's why there's an upgrade in the works.) I don't know for certain the animated smileys exacerbate the 500 errors, but why take the chance they do?

I do know that, at the times when things are busy, I get some noticeable delays loading threads with animated smilies from a smiley site. Those happen to be the same times the 500 errors are most likely.
