Cannot remember the name of the story or the author
The story concerned a middle aged couple in the US
The loving wife cheats for the usual reasons and is caught by the heartbroken hubby.
After the usual angst they divorce and he in time finds a new lady love and he remarries.
In the meantime the first wife stays close living nearby wanting him back. Time passes.
The second wife is killed in a car crash and the hubby is devastated.
The first wife offers consolation and their romance is rekindled.
In time all is forgiven and they remarry.
