Help Me Find a Story - Please

Read this a while back and would like to find it again, mainly to thank the author.

About a man whose wife had left him leaving him with a young daughter, whilst at a school play he noticed a sad looking woman watching a boy on stage, he found out that the woman had killed her abusive husband and had just been released from prison, the woman was not allowed any contact with her son. He saw her again on Christmas eve when she was considering suicide. The man invited her to his parents house for Christmas lunch and after a period of gaining her trust they got together, got her son back, divorced his wife who tried to come back and lived happily ever after. An excellent story which got me hooked on the romance category rather than just the stroke stories.

Any help would be appreciated.
