Hey guys,
I"m trying to submit my first illustrated thing and i can't figure out how for the life of me.

first i just put the text in the field and then tried to upload the pic, and then when that didn't work i actually read the directions.
but when i tried to upload the text file, the picture didn't upload! even tho it was saved in the text file with the .txt ending like it said to. instead these two weird little letters took its place.

i looked at the FAQ's and stuff... does anyone know how to do this? i've never done anything illustrated before, but i wanted to, especially since i'm in survivorphile 2006 now... always trying to branch out and learn new things!

so... um... yeah, gist of the messages: HELP!

A .txt file can not contain images, they will be stripped away if you save it as that. Do you use Word? Then save it as a .doc file and your included image will be saved with it. (Other word processors can often save in MS Word format too, just check what options you have.) Lit accepts .doc files too and not only . txt.

Liar said it all, you need to use a .doc file, MS-Word, MS-Works, Im not too familiar with some of the other ones...

With word you can insert, or paste a picture anywhere...

Good Luck!! :nana:

With MS Word -- and other full feature word-processers -- you hve to make sure you have it configured to include the image in the document instead of linking to it.

A simpler way -- that requires less work on Literotica's part -- is to upload the images to a web-server or attach them to a post. (It's easier to copy a file from the web or an attachment than it is to extract it from a Word Document.)

Once you have the images where they're acessible put a link to them in the NOTES field of your submission and place markers in the plain text or C&P to show where they go -- *** Place Image xyz.jpg Here ***

The Images in the posted version won't be imbedded in the HTML file so imbedding them in a Word Document just adds to the time required to approve and post your story. Putting the images where they can be found and copied easily speeds up the process just a bit, although illustrated stories will always take longer to approve and post because there is more manual intervention necessary to format them.
