I wrote a story and submitted it, and it was rejected with the following reason

Please break up & fix the punctuation of your dialogue. The convention is one speaker per paragraph, so whenever someone new says something, start a new a paragraph. Also, with dialogue you include periods, commas, exclamation points, or question marks inside the quotes. If you don't understand what we're talking about, please read the essay "How to Make Characters Talk" in our Writer's Resources section, as it has more information on the paragraph formatting of dialogue.

I then found an editor ans she made a couple of insignificant changes which were removing a couple of commas and changin a couple of words.

As the editing screwed up the formatting, I resubmitted the original with the following comments:

Dear Literotica,
I did not understand your rejection so I contacted a volunteer editor, temptress_69, who made a couple of insignificant changes. The changes were so few that the edited version was virtually the same as the original. Because the editing process inadvertently changed the formatting, I am resubmitting the original. I can submit the edited version if necessary, but the changes are insignificant. Please re-consider, or be more explicit in your description of the deficiencies. apterixx@hotmail.com

My submission was again rejected with the same above reason.

It did not seem that my comments were even read.

Is there a bot that does the initial acceptance of stories, or are they read by a real person. If a real person, why not answer my specific questions.

Please help me get published?

I would go to the Editor's Forum and post a request for help. Sounds like you just need another volunteer editor. The reason it was rejected again is because you didn't make the changes they suggested.

I would have thought Lit's reasons for the refusal (the second paragraph in your post) were quite clear. Have you looked at "How To Make Characters Talk" as Lit suggests?

I hope you take gauche up on his offer, apertixx.

You'll learn a great deal from this writer.

Naa, it's ages since I edited for anyone and I think I'm just about caught up on favours so now I'm starting to pay it forward.

(I quite enjoy editing actually as long I'm 'in the mood')

(or possibly 'Little Brown Jug')
