I'd like to get my girlfriend a vibrator for Christmas but it needs to meet a couple stipulations. First, it has to be compact, small, travel-light, and relatively inconspicuous. Second, it can't be too intense, she has a fairly sensitive clit so over stimulating it doesn't provide pleasure. Do any of you have experience with something that would fit into these guidelines?

She mostly masturbates with her hands, focusing on her clit, so I would imagine she would use the vibe in a similar manner. Thanks for your input!

What's your budget?

And don't worry about the intensity, as long as you get a multi-speed vibe. It's always better to have something capable of more intensity than something so wimpy that it just produces frustration. You should be fine with any compact, multi-speed vibe in the intensity department.

You should look into one of those small bullet vibes. They are small, inexpensive and easy travel and conseal. Would make a great stocking stuffer gift;)

Not only that, but they tend to score a lot of points with the vast majority of women I've known that had used one.

I looooooove this toy (although I had it in pink so idk if it's slightly different).. http://www.adameve.com/adult-sex-to...maxi-wanachi-waterproof-massagager-14638.aspx The flexible head is awesome, but it is how I broke it :/ I got a little carried away and the "neck" ripped - but I had the toy for over a year before that happened.

They have some toys that look like lipstick (for discretion), but I've never used those so I don't know how good they are.

Bullets are wonderful staples too! I have two and next time I see a sale, I'm getting another just to have. I love them. And like a poster mentioned, you can change the speed which is nice. I use them mainly to have against my clit while I'm typing and stuff because I don't have to hold it or worry about my computer bumping it outta the way. The thing I like about the wand I posted up there *points up* is that you have more control with moving it around (whereas with the bullet, there's only so much space for someone's fingers to hold it while it's against a clit) - and if she decides to insert it, the head feels awesome! :p

I love talking about sex toys and have a nice collection - happy to help where I can :)

My budget is probably <=30$.

So the bullet seems like the staple choice of vibes, small, reliable, and does it's job well. Would you recommend the wireless one or the one with a battery pack attached? The battery pack seems awkward to me?

The Wanachi looks good too, but as she's going traveling I think 7.5 inches is a bit large (I don't want to be replaced anytime soon :p).

From what I'm reading the wireless Bullet doesn't cut it for power (runs off 3 watch batteries) and has problems getting wet. The one with the battery pack has better reviews. There are two options for it as well, metal or plastic, which is better if it comes to insertion, and cleaning?

Thanks again for all your help, this should be fun for the both of us.

wow! I missed that part! Mine was like 5 inches - much more compact for traveling and such. Too bad it doesn't look like they sell mine anymore :(

My bullets have the battery pack (and you can plug two bullets which is fun) and it runs on AA I think. Never really causes any trouble. I have a wireless toy and the remote stopped working :/

I hope you find something you guys love! :D

You're less likely to have problems with the wired one. You can also get a silicone sleeve for it (like one w/ rabbit ears) for almost nothing. I don't like bullets by themselves because the shape is too smooth, which diffuses the stimulation. But the one in my rabbit is just fine because the rabbit ears concentrate the sensation.

I wouldn't suggest bothering with HItachi knockoffs. The real thing w/ the attachments is well worth the $50 or so bucks, especially since it comes with a 1-year warranty if you save your receipt (and maybe box) It's very powerful, but there are tons of ways to tone it down.

I always travel with mine. It's a massager, after all. I just bring an extension cord (hotel room outlets can be in inconvenient places) and pack the attachments separately (in a ziploc bag, just in case they inspect my luggage).

Yeah, definitely avoid things that take watch batteries! They can be very expensive to replace, and they're not rechargeable (we always use rechargeable in our toys because then we always have a spare set ready and it's far more cost effective).

The "metal" bullets are usually just painted plastic, which will rub off and has god knows what in it, so just go with the standard plastic.

I'd also suggest a phthalate-free rabbit vibe, and that'd definitely be more gift-y than a cheap bullet if this is someone you care for. Make sure it takes at least 3 AA batteries; anything less won't power the functions.

Don't worry about being replaced by the vibe. I've never heard of that happening. Accept that the vibe will do some things you can't, and you can do MANY things the vibe can't. You and any toys will complement each other. Insecurity is SO not sexy.

One other point: Look at Adam & Eve because they have the best return policy in the industry. If she doesn't like the toy for any reason, she can return it within 60 or 90 days. Do make sure you opt out of their mailings and such if you don't want them, though (some here have complained about that, but they do give you an option). If you search via Google, they often have special deals on the links at the top of the results.

Water Dancer

Works on Land, Sea and Air.

1 AA Battery is all you need.

Bath Tubs, Hot Tubs, Hot Cars and Airlines it performs everywhere!

You guys are really helpful thank you!

The rabbits are all a little alien-looking for her, and not terribly back-pack friendly haha. Anyone have any experience with this little guy? Reviews say it sometimes dies out pretty quickly, otherwise it looks pretty good.

I also live in Montreal so most of this stuff will most likely be available locally.

Other considerations:

Pleasure Orb
Silk Touch
