As a "thank you" present for helping my daughter and granddaughter while my daughter got her life straightened out, she ordered a subscription to HelloFresh for us. My thought previously was that I didn't think it would be a good idea to get something like that, since I enjoy cooking and can usually come up with a pretty decent meal on my own.

However, I have been impressed. The food is good and the quality is usually very high - occasionally we get some veggies that are of a lower quality that I would by on my own. We get to choose three meals per week from a choice of 18. Some are very high end, and we pay extra for those. There are vegetarian options as well.

We had one box that was three days late, so of course it was unusable. The company took care of that for us by giving us a week free, which impressed me, since I think it was the shipping company at fault.

The best thing for us is that the meals are filling, and there are no leftovers to either eat later or throw away. The meal is just right size for two people, but you can also get an order for four meals.

Our cost per meal is right about $10.00. We didn't eat out a lot anyway, so that's more than we would usually spend preparing our own meals. But our grocery bill is down noticeably. I have started paying for our meals now, and I think we will continue for the short term.

Have you had experiences with HelloFresh or other meal kits? If so, what are your opinions? If you've been on the fence thinking about trying them, I would recommend HelloFresh since that's the one I know about.

I never considered them. I don't mind shopping, I usually cook for one, and I'm a picky eater. Glad you like it though!
