Hello i stumbled onto this part of the forum by accident (thank you Kcar!) and figured i should post my attempts at art as well kinda like a mimi portfolio i guess..... Since i'm an 18yo english major please be nice... lol just kidding i'm good with criticism lol.... i hope you don't mind my style i'm rather obsessed with anime and it has a tendancy to show.....

About 2-3 years ago and i've been slowly working it ever since.... i'm acctually afraid to color it for fear of ruining it.. Sorry if you can't see this that well it was done in a 2h pencil mostly.... this was the best pic i could take.... this is kinda what my girl is to me..... kinda bad though because she looks very little like that.... (no ears and tail of course!)

my final for ceramics when i took ceramics/jewlery in senior year.... make a teapot that doesn't appear to be a teapot.... didn't have to be functional either! yay! (don't ask for my jewelery stuff i gave most of it away to friends so no pics )

pastel for draw/paint class... (sadly though the model in the painting was about 4-6... it came out good on it's own though!)

That teapot rox, AK!! I think it's a great piece. What grade did you get for it?

I love the last 3 paintings! The colors in Pompeii are really striking, as well as in the next 2. Perhaps because you're balancing the bright color with the right neutrals so well. I'm impressed! The design and composition of these are very relaxing, but there is also potential energy, in them, that is bound only by time.

For your pencil drawings, I recommend getting some softer lead...maybe an HB, B, and 2B. You can go over the 2H linework in various places to give it more presense.

Any way you can make the pics bigger?

Love these four pieces angelkitty the monotone flowers are really nice.

If you have a piece you are afraid of working on.....to try new ideas...upload a photo of it to the computer and play with it there...that way if the idea does not work out you still have your original piece unspoiled....if the idea works.....go for it. I am finding out how wonderful computers are in savaging damaged work.....you can lift the color directly off of the paintying photo and apply it where ever you want so matching the color is not a nightmare issue.

Kcar - i got an a+ on the teapot he even displayed it for a while lol i'm glad you like them.... i have the other pencils it's just when i try to use them i always end up ruining the picture.... i've been practicing a bit though so it's getting a little better

Gi_V - i like your idea i'm just not that computer savvy lol bigest thing i can use is paint/photoshop.... and even then it's the basics lol

i'm gonna post some backgrounds i made.... yeah.... i'm an anime nerd.....

This is my favorite pair from one of my all-time favorites Sailor moon.... (although i didn't know that american censors spelt lesbian as C-O-U-S-I-N....) aren't they so cute? sorry for the epileptic nightmare lol

i found this phrase (minus the "what will you choose?") on Lit in all honesty and it just struck me so much i had to use it.... i hope whoever's siggy it was in doesn't mind the anime is revolutionary girl Utena..... good anime involving floating castles a bride who is engaged to whoever wins the duels and a girl who wants to be a prince (like the one who cheered her up after the death of her parents).... i recomend it.....

that's the ones i dare to share.... the others need work...... yeah..... opinions?
