Hello everyone. My name is Lucy, I just found this site and have to say I'm quite thrilled at the prospect of getting involved. I have just submitted my first story so fingers crossed :)

I'm 44 and was sadly widowed last year. All my life I have secretly struggled with powerful lesbian and submissive desires. As a result of being in the closet and married, I have relied on my imagination to explore these desires and become quite adept at weaving fantasies. I used to chat with other women surreptitiosly in chat rooms online or in forums like this but recently, (with the rise of dating apps), such anonymous chat rooms and forums have all but disappeared.

The beauty of those chat rooms and forums was the way they tilted away from image led interaction and instead lent themselves to meetings of minds, expressed through words. I could confess my fantasies, in depth and anonymously and get instant feedback. They were a lifeline of sorts. It was so wonderful just to be able to speak to other women who understood, or better still enjoyed the thoughts I had bouncing around in my head. The lack of images mean't that the written word and the imagination took centre stage. They had nothing in common with the dating apps which unfortunately replaced such online spaces.

I'm hoping that Literotica might be the oasis I'm looking for and I may be able to express myself once again, let my imagination soar and connect with other people who understand and prefer the sexual imagination to the image led, online culture of today.

I really look forward to participating.

PS: As I'm submissive, my fantasies tend to be both lesbian and involve domination and submission (not necessarily BDSM though), but I notice that there's only a lesbian or BDSM category so I'm not quite sure where my stories are best suited. Any advice would be much appreciated.

You've certainly found a word-centric bunch of writers here, with a wide range of backgrounds and interests. Welcome, and remember, the only dumb question is the one you don't ask. Stick around, get to know the personalities; you'll be fine ;).

Hi Lucy and welcome to Literotica. You’ll find it an interesting place with a few fellow writers in the authors hangout who write here. Lit has all sorts of quirks and this is a great place to ask if there’s anything you’re puzzled by or stuck on. It’s also just plain chatty and Tex’s Coffee Shop is a great thread to just chat about anything and everything in.

As far as bdsm and lesbian, the categories are fairly broad so just write and submit in whichever category seems to dominate the story. I’m sure others here who write in those categories can give you some better advice on that than me.

Have fun writing here :rose:

Thank you both so much for your replies. I have a good feeling about Literotica already. This forum reminds me of my early forays onto the internet in the late nineties. It's how the internet used to be :)

Welcome, Lucy, and good luck with your writing. Please share a link with us when your story is published.

Thank you Melissa. I will make sure I do that and I hope you enjoy it. Thank you so much :)

Welcome Lucy and very sorry on your loss.

I too tend to have lesbian tendencies, but being male I have to assume that is only natural. ;)

Hangout and have a good time.

Welcome Lucy!

Our little author's hangout is a nice sanctuary here at Lit. I've ventured into other forums and quietly backed ou!

Most of the time, 98%, it's a nice little gathering place. That little 2% is when some of the people crawl out of the woodwork to try to cause hate, but they are quickly silenced and sent scurrying.

Do pop into Tex's coffee shop and meet everyone! There's always coffee and tea, and sometimes doughnuts :D

Welcome Lucy. Also very sorry to hear about your recent loss.

There is a great community here with a lot of wonderful people worth making connections with. The rest can be easily ignored. ;) I hope that you find your place and are able to share and get the feedback that you desire. For many of us, this has been the perfect place to explore one's sexual imagination with those who understood, so you've certainly come to the right place.

Good luck and best wishes!

Wow, thank you so much. It seems like the coffee thread is the best place to introduce myself. That's the second time it has been mentioned. I will pop in soon. Thanks again. Very nice to meet you

Please do drop in to the cafe. I promise not to bite too hard. ;)

Welcome to the AH. It does become addictive over time.

I know it's been said already (the AH is a very welcoming group) but I'll join the chorus as well. Welcome Lucy, and thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. We're glad to have you here. If you have any questions or need any advice, don't hesitate to ask.

Welcome, Lucy. Good luck with your stories! I think you'll find this is an interesting place.

Welcome

Some quotes:

William Faulkner: “Get it down. Take chances. It may be bad, but it's the only way you can do anything good.”

Charles Bukowski: “He asked, 'What makes a man a writer?' 'Well,' I said, 'it's simple. You either get it down on paper, or jump off a bridge.' ”

Also Bukowski:

“nothing can save
you
except
writing.
it keeps the walls
from
failing.”

Welcome to the funny farm.

Watch where you step.

It's messy here.

Welcome aboard, Lucy. Cocktails are served between six and seven. And it's always between six and seven somewhere in the world. :)

Rule of thumb with categorisation on this site is to minimise unwanted surprises for the readers, and help them find their kinks. Some categories like GM and Incest are love/hate with readers, so that kind of content generally takes precedence when stories are categorised.

But with Lesbian and BDSM, neither category really trumps the other, so like Chloe said just post to whichever seems to be the main focus. I've posted lesbian BDSM content in Lesbian before and it went fine. If you were posting male-male BDSM, on the other hand, Gay Male would be the place for it; posting in BDSM would get a bad reaction.

Hi and welcome!

Zeb! I had no idea!!!!!!

What? That my tendencies were because I was male or that I felt like I was a lesbian?

And aren't all straight males truly lesbians in the sense that they love women and only women?

And I for sure love women and only women. Single or married.:rose:

It was the image of Zeb as an honest to god lesbian. That had me laughing so hard..... forgive me my sense of humor, for it is awful...

Thank you all for such a wonderful welcome. For those of you who are interested, I have tentatively started a blog on Tumblr. It's new so is low on posts, but I will be updating it regularly with my love of vintage lesbian erotica and lesbian art, with my own added thoughts. The art and erotica is mostly tasteful but perhaps my words verge on the taboo. I hope to gain some regular visitors. Unfortunately Tumblr seems to suffer from the same problems I mentioned earlier about the modern, social media and dating led online world, in that it lacks the conversation led comment sections. It's all about likes and reposts which are not very satisfying for me. I'm hoping that in the absence of comments and conversation on my blog from other Tumblr users, I might build a following here and the conversations could be had in this good old fashioned forum. Anyway, please have a peek. Thank you once again for all of your warm welcomes.

The AH is for followers and snow flakes , but 12 years ago it was a gladiator arena. Management and snow flakes prefer sedate. You wont learn much here, and boring is the usual fare. You've been warned.
