Welcome to the board, Fire Child.

Do you have any specific question or subject matter you're inquiring, or more like don't-put-all-the-eggs-in-one-basket type of advice?

Are you a newbie just to the board, or also to writing and/or reading poetry?

Hello and welcome, fire child. I look forward to reading your work.

Welcome aboard fire child.

Like the others have said, exactly what are you looking for? Most of us do not consider ourselves to be "pro", but many of the regular board posters are willing to offer suggestions on specific poems or topics.
(IMHO) A few are very negative, and several are much too gentle. If you would like me to review/edit/critique a poem, please PM it to me and tell me what you want. I no longer respond to board requests because they engender too much acerbic feeling among people who should be friends.

Regards,                                 Rybka

1. Don't take anything Senna Jawa says personally.
2. Watch out for clichés and forced rhymes.
3. Don't marry a person who borrows money from you on the first two dates.
4. Give your poem an intriguing title.
5. Join in on all the challenges and whatever else that's happening on the board if you want to learn more and get to know a pocket of peculiar poets.

You know, those are some pretty good rules to live by in general - with the possible exception of #1... just a tad to specific to make it as a life rule. Oh, and on #5, stop right after "happening" and it works just about anywheres.

THANKS

so i've been writing poetry/short stories for many years, and I just need a place I can get unhypocritical critization. :D Senna Jawa, I promise not to take you personally. I'm only 18, so my veiws and thoughts in my writing is all from a personal level right now, although I've been trynig to write from another's point of view as a sort of experiment, to define my style. Doesn't help when the person I was looking through turned out to be as blank as a new snow in the yukon. You think you know someone and then, jeez. Oh well. So for the time, till I get my head outta my butt and back on my shoulders, I'll only be submitting older poetry of mine. As always, all advice very helpful, and thanks in advance if I don't get around to saying so...I try to stay busy.
this is fire child...signing out.
