Have you read Dale Carnegie? It often helps to take an interest in strangers & their interests first, & asking them open questions , rather than just asking people to talk to you out of the blue. .

Try searching "Ohio" on the playground& personals forums, there are threads & Buckeyes here, just not 24/7.
