Hello From My Englishness

I’ll play.

This pm was sent to me so i can not take the credit (how would you answer)
i dont know if this is some sort of social study?

1. Which element best describes you?

I only have shit answers for this, so I’ll resist a proper attempt... but fire is strong because I want to burn a significant number of folks to a crisp... water is my meditative space... swimming - which is big for me, I taught myself to swim a couple of years ago and I was terrified walking into that pool alone, with my fat bits squashed into my cossie... but it’s become the place I let go (may not be surprising given how much I love my bubble baths...) so maybe it’s equal parts fire and water...

2. What are you most thankful for?

Survival. Friends. Mentors. Strong women.

3. Invent your own word. What does it mean to you?

I repurpose words all the time... don’t think I invent any tho.
I refer to my solo orgasms as kamikazes, stolen from the French idea of it being a little death... and since self inflicted, kamikaze fitted, so I’ll abbreviate to kazi’s as mini orgasms and kami’s for those that end as a damp squib...

if you would kindly take part i will post my answers, for what it's worth.

All feeling reassured?

I'm so very glad that the "stay alert" message was so thoroughly rebuffed by the devolved administrations but given that news from Nicola still doesn't show up on the front page of my BBC news app (which I've logged in and specifically asked it to) I still think we're fucked for mixed messages if nothing else.

OK. Boxing the frustration and anger back up and getting ready to deal with the next day.

Thinking of you all in all your varied circumstances. We'll get there.

Failing to organise a piss up in a brewery comes to mind..

I’m alright jack, I’m one of those that can work from home but there is a massive amount of uncertainty for so many others tonight...

If you have a job you can’t do from home are you in tomorrow? what if you can’t avoid public transport? What if still home schooling? What if your boss isn’t ready to have you back after having shut up shop for a couple months?

Sunday fucking evening... great time to announce peeps going back if they can...

Boris is such a twat....

... and totally ignored Starmer's list of 7 principles.

And what’s this about letting the French in without being quarantined. How you police that as there isn’t a French passport to identify them.

If you want to keep the virus from being brought in, then you keep the doors locked to all foreign countries, and why only mention quarantine if you fly in. Why not the ferries or tunnel.

Not often I think Nicola Sturgeon and I have anything in common - but I'm with her on the Stay at Home message.

And what's all this guff about going outside for as much exercise as you like as often as you like and you're welcome to jump in the car and go to the beach to do it? I guess if the beaches are full at least they'll be someone to lend a helping hand to the refugees as they struggle to get out of their inflatables ..

I think you have to remember there are people with children in flats living in cities who no doubt really appreciate the opportunity to leave the house more than once a day. Since some local authorities closed their parks its meant the only realistic way some people have to get to an open space is to drive somewhere.

My daughter is in West London on 2nd floor, two bedroom apartment with 2 kids ( 6 and 3) and 1husband. She doesnt drive and her husband is fasting.
For her it's extremely difficult

Bless her, x

I hope she’s managing to at least get a little walk occasionally,

On the plus side the aircraft noise must be somewhat diminished?

Having lived beneath the flight path for 40 years I can say one gets used to it. Concorde was a bit noisy but a spectacular sight.
My daughter has double glazing and you don't notice it. She is right next to the railway line and the trains are much, clickety, much, clickety, much clack worse!
That said, she's happy.

I too lived beneath it for many years. For a while I was in a flat with a view west over the rooftops from which one could clearly see the queue of planes on their approach to land at Heathrow.

I do remember how very quiet it was immediately after 9/11.

Everyone is doing ok and coping with the batshit mental situation.

I’m struggling through. I’m quiet on here, still pop on to lurk from time to time.

We’re in a time where leadership is a bunch of buffoons telling us to use common sense to keep ourselves safe, so when the shit goes down the pan they can act all sanctimonious. I have an old school friend who is a die-hard Tory, ardent supporter of Johnson, she seems suspiciously quiet at the moment. I know you come here for the tits and stuff ...

Hey Mr.D........be alert.....stay safe....poke Boris with a stick

Just wondering, post corona , following his near death experience, will Boris continue to support the NHS or remain determined to sell it to the USA?

I’ve been alert for hours. This virus really is a pesky thing. I can’t see it. Don’t tell it your name, Pike.

He’ll know which side his bread’s buttered and make his own bed ... how many mixed metaphors can I cram into one kettle of fish
