Hello From My Englishness

Looks like a fun place. Not British but have an affinity for it and have spent some time there. Actually just came here because the OP has some great comments on another thread and her profile pic is intriguing. Belated Happy Christmas (Merry Christmas for us Yanks) and Happy New Year! Hope you'll have me.

Welcome to the thread. We’ve been a bit quiet lately, most likely due to holidays and lockdowns.

Welcome to the English/British thread: home to Brexit, Mad Cow Disease, SARS-CoV-2, Mr Bean, and the crumpet!

Hope everyone has some kind of NYE plans tonight ... even if it's banging on the windows, wishing to be let out!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I can understand the impact of the holidays on the thread, but the lockdown has actually increased my fundamental on Lit! :)

Thanks! Yes, spending NYE in quarantine, LOL. Happy New Year!!!

I'm doing well with my addictions thank you very much.

A very happy new year to one an all.

Personally I'll be raising a free glass of something very expensive. 😉

Saw the New Year in quietly but raring to go in '21. Keep safe and keep posting everyone.

First day of the New Year and Dr. Who is back this evening. Captain Jack to the rescue.

Happy New Year everyone - sun shining today in London, well sort of... thinking of going for a walk with the dog...

can I really be bothered?....

Good morning

Hello everyone. I live in Leeds but work in London’s dns stay there most of the week.

Would be good to chat to other people from London

Hope everyone's ok

Hey all,

Made it back from my deployment. Seems it's all gone a bit quiet here. Hope everyone's doing OK in perpetual lockdown.

I'm glad to hear that you have made it back home safe and sound.
Yes, it's been quiet here for a bit. Nothing much fun to report from this side of the pond. It's ridiculously cold here in Chicago. We already have a bunch of snow and are supposed to get another 8-12" overnight. It was already a challenge getting the car down the alley, as the city doesn't plow them. We may not be driving anywhere until the next thaw.

It sounds like the next car will be a 4X4. :D
We'll have 2-3" of snow tonight on top of the other 6", but it will disappear by Wednesday they say. Then it's fifty shades of gray, and not in a fun way!

The current car is all wheel drive, but doesn’t have the ground clearance. ☃️

Is it alive

Good Morning all,

Thought I'd check in and see if this thread is still alive.

Good morning from me and my mug of English Breakfast tea.

Tea, that's a good idea, will have to be Tetley's though with real milk. It's looking lovely outside, the morning light always makes the old sandstone look beautiful.

Cows do have a long history of getting it right dont they, alternatives have their, carefully chosen, place though.

They do but I'm glad cow's milk is still an option for me. They are definitely an alternative but only in desperate circumstances.

Really, I come to Lit for tea chat.
Happy Friday all! Sainsbury's red label forever ;)

Tea has it's place but for me, black coffee all the way. Speaking of which time to put the kettle on.
