Hi everyone.

I'm sorry I haven't checked in for quite a while. However, not to worry. I'm fine. Busy with life, but fine.

For those who might remember -- my surgery was fine, and I was waiting to have further work on reconstruction. That's all done and I think things look pretty good. I've had a couple of other issues, nothing major, but hey, it happens when you're staring at 50 like I am.

As always I hope to get back to writing, and just wanted to say hello and that I hope you're all doing well and writing.

During a few years of a lot of backbiting and gaming on the AH, PL stood out as the grounded one who everyone respected and didn't screw with.

That's good to know. I seem to have come on board (Dec. 2016) after a rather stormy period here.

I've been in and out for a few years, but I think I missed the worst of it.

I should spend more time here though. I do more writing and thinking about writing when I'm active here than any other SM. The place beginning with T is the worst for my productivity, and imposter syndrome.

Yeah... PennLady. Can write, too. Missed that. Every solid writer is needed these days. In RL journalists and reporters need to learn to code, fiction books are put together from cut-and-paste shops in Shanghai, and Hollywood has committed ritual Brie Larson...

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I'm glad I missed any, ah, dark times in the last year or so, but I do feel badly I didn't come back sooner. I'll try to make this more of a habit. Not sure the habit can start today, as I think I'm off to see Captain Marvel in a while. Mr. Penn and PennBoy saw it yesterday, and PennGirl isn't interested, so now it's my turn.

Otherwise I guess life continues apace, and unfortunately busy enough to keep me from getting into any kind of writing habit, which I do miss. I'll keep looking for ideas though. My heavy metal tendencies continue, as I took PennBoy to Rock Allegiance last fall and will take him to another festival in May (with a break from it all to see Josh Ritter just before).

There's still hockey of course, and I was indeed thrilled when my Caps won the Stanley Cup last year. Crossing fingers for a repeat.

The medical stuff is always there but at least it's not in the foreground most of the time.

Hope the spring is going well (if not warmly) for everyone and happy writing.

Thank you. I agree that Lit helped me write and find ideas to write about. I think the single biggest block to my writing at the moment is that I am not in the habit of coming here and reading. Guess I need to rearrange my priorities.
