As I crouch there and watch these mortals I can not help but think of how they are going through their short lives without knowing that we are out here. That thought brings a smile to my lips as I know that it is so easy for me to take one of these mortals and drain them of their blood only to have them thought of as some type of ritualistic murder. I want to laugh at that thought but I know that if I do they will hear it and wonder what could have made a laugh that loud. I slowly stand and after taking one last look down at the street walk away from the edge of the building.

I walked towards the other side of the building and looked down at the alley to see if anyone was around then jumped down to land in the alley with a sound. I pulled my coat down and walked out of the alley straight into the crowded street- smelling and feeling everything that was coming from these mortals. I slowly walked down the street and looked at the face of every person that I passed- trying to find my victim. Just then the scent that I craved for filled my nostrils and I looked straight at the person that it was coming from- watching as she quickly walked down the street.

With a smile I walked after her and let my mind connect with hers- seeing what she had done to deserve the death that I was going to give her. As soon as I had seen every deed that she had in her life I moved after her, preparing myself for what was to come. She suddenly stopped and turned to look straight at me.
"Yeah, what is it you want?"
"I am so sorry if I am offending you by following you but you are the most radiant creature that I have ever seen I just had to ask you out to dinner."
"Go pick up someone else jerk."
"And miss the extreme pleasure of your company? I'm afraid I can not do that."

Suddenly a smile came to her face and I knew exactly what she was thinking but I knew that she did not plan on meeting someone like me this night. We slowly walked to the nearest restaurant and ordered our meal then sat there talking- it was so easy to play with her; to make her think that I liked her, that I wanted to spend more than tonight with her. As soon as we finished our meal we walked hand in hand to the closest motel and when I asked her if this was the place that we wanted to be she told me that she was what was the most important- not the place.

I agreed with a smile and gave her money for a room which she paid for while I stayed in the shadow so the manager couldn't see my face. As soon as we entered the room and closed the door she was all over me, kissing me- running her fingers through my hair and even biting me while she took off my clothes. She stood back and took off her own clothes then moved towards me.
"What do you want to do to me baby?" she asked.
"Just this."

Before she realized what was happening I was on her, biting deep into her throat. She tried to let out a scream but before she could I cut off her air supply- silencing her. As I drained her blood I heard her heart beat within my head and revelled in it- it was the greatest form of pleasure for me. I held her close as I drained her blood and suddenly felt her heart beat turn erratic and knew that she was close to death. I dropped her to the ground and began to get dressed as I watched her go through her death throes.

She suddenly stopped moving and I walked over to where her body lay then crouched down to look at her face. I closed her eyes then turned and walked from the room- grabbing the key off the table as I did. I closed the door and locked it with a click before I went down the stairs, throwing the key to the manager as I passed.
"She is dead tired, please don't disturb her," I said before I walked out of the motel and into the street.

"I think she's waking."
Sounds, immortale and beating came to her, woke her up from a velvet of unconscious that had wrapped themselves so tightly around her, she struggled even to breathe.
"Something's wrong, she's shaking."
"No... no, that's normal. It's just taking over. Watch..."
A concerned voice, male, somewhere close by, possibly leaning over her. She could feel herself on a bed, the gentle springs pushing on her back, keeping her from gravity's grasp and the stone cold floor below. She could feel her heart thump drastically in her chest. Her breath came short.
"What's happening to her, what's wrong?"
She knew that voice. Somewhere, in the darkness of waking, and the light of her own memory, familiarity flooded through her. She could feel herself dying, and the only thing that came to her mind was..."I know him, I know that voice."
"She's dying."
Another one, this voice cold and distant. A tone in his voice made her draw away from it, push back towards the warm blanket of unconscious. The man, so close to her, so real that it hurt her teeth, spoke like he was death himself.
And, as she lay dying in a foreign bed with two men standing over her, one she knew, and one she didn't, Anna thought it was death.
Death came for her.
Her heart stopped then, and a different blanket came over her. This one cold, and heartless. She screamed, trying to flee from it, trying to run, her mind telling her feet to move, but her feet stuck in the cold already, and willing the other parts to follow.
"Goodbye, my pet."

John Terrace, a man with cold features, and stone eyes, looking at Richard.
"She's dead."
Richard had a look of anger that swept over his face.
"You said she'd be ok. You said you could save her."
John smiled, which made Richard shutter inside. That smile was cruel, and on his face, looked about as fitting as fuzzy dice on a tractor.
"I have saved her..."
Richard was about to argue, but John slapped him across the face. A smart red pain hit him, and he cowered against the back wall of this tiny dark alley room. It was in the basement of some poor tenament. Above them, hookers fucked dirty old men with money, and the poorest of the poor huddled together for warmth. This was the fucked up part of town, and Richard knew here, if John wanted, no one would ever see him again...
Alive or dead.
John looked back at the woman lying in the bed, so still, so perfect.
"She's a fallen child now. You understand? You brought her to me with a fucking broken neck. You sick fuck, what in the hell did you expect?"
Richard only shook his head, "You promised."
John's eyes were wild, spilling the hate from his heart out like open beacons guiding lonely ships to shore.
"I promised she'd live."
At that, Anna's chest heaved up, taking in a long deep breath. The purple bruises on her neck disappeared, and for a moment, she seemed to be starting up again, like some old truck on a cold morning.
Her baby blue eyes fluttered, then stayed open.
"Anna, Annabelle, baby," Richard began to cry, coming over and throwing himself on her side. He hugged her tight, sobbing against her shoulder.
"I'm so glad you're alive."
Her stare was cold now. John saw it. It was the look of a woman still dead. The light in her eyes, the soul beyond those beautiful pupils had left her, and this shell had found a new host.
She opened her mouth, and fangs grew out. She was dead and hungry. John urged her on.
She bit into her lover. For a moment, he stirred, unsure what had happened. He tried pulling away, but Anna wrapped her hands and thighs around him, drinking from him. A moment of panic hit Richard, as he felt the life drain from him, into those sweet luscious lips of the woman he had loved... the woman he beat every day since they had gotten together, and a woman who had just died.
In a moment, he lay still, and Anna scooted herself out from under his corpse.
"Nicely done," John reached down, snapping the man's neck, making it look like a normal suicide, and nothing more dark or sinister.
"Thank you," she beamed, licking some of Richard's life from the side of her mouth. Johm moved in to kiss her, the feel of crimson on her lips too tempting to resist. She met it welcomely, knowing her master as she awoken.
As he broke it, she began to kiss the side of his neck, and move down, fumbling for the buttons on his pants.
"Not yet, not so fast my pet... Soon enough, but now I have someone I need to visit. You will come along, of course."
It wasn't a question, and she didn't bother answering. Their job done here, John left the fucking rank shit of the building, up to a car waiting for him, his new victim in tow, with wild awakened eyes, looking at the world anew.
Dead eyes that seemed to feed on the city itself.
John laughed at the night, something that made even the strongest of heart cringe.

Slowly I walked down the streets and thought of what had just happened. I could still feel her blood running through me, giving me life and it was the most exquisite thing that I could ever feel. I looked at these mortals as I walked passed them and wondered what they would do if I was to ever reveal my presence to them. Would they try to stake me through the heart with a piece of wood just to have me laugh at them when they did or would they go for all of those other ridiculous legends, none of them being true.

I shook my head and cleared those thoughts away then started to walked down the street faster. Being out in this street was pathetic, especially if a hunter happened to see me. I suddenly stopped, causing the mortal behind me to stop and bump into me. She cursed me and I smiled before I watched her walk off.

I slowly left the main street and straight into an alley then looked around. When I saw nothing I climbed up the side of the closest building and went straight to the roof. As soon as I was on the roof, I stood there- letting the peace and serenity of the night fill me.

The night was a young one and I was out to burn the town as they so say sometimes.

It was the park where I found my meal. She was young and innocent was she walked back and forth near the road in her heals and a short skirt. She looked scared as well. I always love the taste of innocence and fear in my meals. Both were hard to find. This one had both.

Slowly i approached her. the sight must have looked odd. I barely look like i was more than eighteen myself but my dress said differently. It was from and older time that I dressed. I always felt mor comfortable in the dress of darker days of velvet and leather. I held my hand out to her leading her back into the nearby wooded area handing her a fifty that I had stollen last night from my prey.

I began showing her tenderness as I kissed her and wiped away her tears. Slowly and delicately I struck. The young one barely had a chance to scream before I drained her life from her. I could feel heat flow though my body as her blood coursed though my veins. There I left her, in the woods holding her money, before wandering back to the park for another try.

The rattle of heels sounded on the empty pavement.
The only other noise to be heard was the sound of breathless gasps that finally erupted forth into giggles.
Finally reaching the destination of the taxi rank, the two girls threw themselves down and gave into helpless laughter.

”Nikki… that was just damned cruel …”

Nicola pretended to be offended as she objected to what they both knew was a tongue-in-cheek accusation.

”Aww come one Mel!
That guy had been leering at both of us all evening.
I thought that Steve was going to hit him one …”

Both girls took a calming breath and straightened.

”He was a creep.”

Mel announced in a characteristic about face.
Nikki pondered, a troubled expression momentarily clouding her expression.

”Yeah … the “won’t-take-no-for-an-answer” type.
There’s been a few of those around “Maddisons” lately.
It’s a shame … used to be a real fun place for us all to get together..”

Mel nodded, then both girl’s shrugged the faintly unpleasant incident forgotten.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Maddisons” was a traditional student nightspot.
Soon after the college year had begun, the more “creative” students had seemed to gravitate towards each other forming a brilliant and colourful alliance.
They all held dreams of what they would one day become and as a result they worked and played hard!
They had discovered “Maddisons” early on in the term.
After the first tentative visits at the end of September, it soon became clear that it was a place where the “gang” could go to for fun.
Strictly speaking, Nicola and her friends were initially underage, but they found that rules could be bent if you stayed out of trouble and “looked right”.
When Nikki celebrated her 18th birthday party there, under the tenuous masquerade of it being her 21st, no one seemed to mind and finally reassured, the “gang” had been regular customers ever since!
A group of “arty” students seemed to add a bohemian flair to the place.
In short they were good for business and the management actively encouraged the group’s regular patronage.
The girls turned their heads as a taxi drew into sight.
“Home?”
Mel asked hopefully.
”Might as well call it a night …”
Nikki conceded following her friend who drew the drivers attention securing a safe ride home.
A dark limo drove across town, weaving in and out of the shadows that played on its reflective surface. It's engine purred with a greasy silence that stirred the heart of anyone who heard it. In idle, that constant drone of the engine, someone might even think it were alive, and hungry.
John sat next to his latest victim, curled up beside him, playing with his opened chest, making slow circles with her fingers, tracing little lines up and down.
"Call Lelani. I heard she was back in town."
"Sir?" The driver looked back at him, a confused look on her face
"I have a job for her. A favor actually, something she might enjoy too. Get her on the phone..."
"Aye sir."
"Oh, baby, please, if you're going to do something... do it right," She fumbled through his pants, and knelt down. He put his hand on the back of her head, controlling her movements.
A small stack of pictures were on the far seat. Grabbing them, he made sure they were all in order. Nikki, looking sweet, innocent, playful. They even caught one of her in the shower... wrapped in a towel, but still that young flesh all wet and strands of hair clinging to her back, left little to the imagination.
"Where is he?" he held back a groan as the young woman's tongue came out, flicking the head of his cock.
"We lost sight of him tonight, sir. He fed earlier, some whore or something in a hotel, but after that, nothing."
John could just imagine the poor alienated soul, perched on a rooftop, crying solaced tears for his long lost life. It almost seemed a shame he went through all this work for some insolant cry baby.
"I know where he is, go to the north side of town."
It was amazing how well Nikki looked like his old wife. The eyes, burned with her soul, same cheeckbones, same pouty lips. Except for the hair, and possibly darker skin, it could have been her sister, or long lost twin.
Alic would recognize her immediately.
The limo moved down a street, going north now. Black beams shot forth, clouding the night.
In the back, John let out a shallow sigh, cumming into the inexperienced woman's mouth. After he was done, he felt sick of her, snapped her neck, and let her roll out into the streets.
His cum still on her lips.
John smiled, wondering if tonight would be as eventful as he hoped.
Lelani
The night was still young and still no more innocents came for her to feed. There she sat on the park bench watching and waiting for a young one to come by but none came. Then the though came. Some one was out thee. Someone she knew. Someone she knew very well indeed.
She stood from where she was seated on the cold iron park bench as she sniffed the air. It was John. She could feel him as he longed for her to come forth. It had beed many years since they had met eye to eye but she was always ready to see the one who made her.
With quick movement she made her way through the park to main street on the otherside. Quickly she needed to feed before going home once again.
A car pulled up next to her and the window rolled down. An olderman with crooked teeth smiled at her as he unlocked the passenger side door.
Lelani sliped in and they pulled off into the nearby ally. With her lith frame pulled up onto his lap she let her lips trail down the mans neck gently before striking. His warmth and corruption slid down her throat as she drank deeply from him till there was no moer life left.
From his wallet she took a few hundred dollars along with the jewelry he wore. The gold rings and necklace would get her a pretty penny at the pawn shop the next night and the money would go towards her next meals.
Stealthly she left the car and made her way dow the street a few blocks till she came upon her large loft and slippped inside without anyone noticing
I walked to the edge of the building and looked down at the mortals, wondering what it would be like to be like them as I had done several times in the long existence that I had- the existence I never wanted. Without even a second thought I jumped from the edge of the building to land on the roof of the building on the other side of the alley without a sound. I then started running and jumping from building to building- feeling the night fill me up and give me power.
Just then I stopped and remembered the last time that I had felt like this- it had been the night before Melissa had been killed. I knew that I could have stopped it from happening but with the debt that I owed John I did nothing to stop him and the last thing I heard was the scream from Melissa. John had left her there in our home and I screamed a curse into the night air that I was sure he had heard.
I took a deep breath and started to move again, knowing that it would be stupid to dwell on things- they would not find me anything to feed on and I still had to make it to my home and the woman that I now loved. She and it were something that I still managed to keep from James or so I helped.
I moved to the edge of the building and jumped down to land on the ground. As soon as I landed I took a sniff of the air, trying to find someone who had the smell of evil on them. Just then a woman walked past me and I smelt it- it was strong on her. As I moved after her I knew that she would be all that I needed this night, she would quench my thirst.
As I moved after her every thought that I had disappeared- the only thing that mattered to me was this mortal and the blood that was calling to me. I wanted to take her then and there and drained her of every last drop, not even caring who saw it but I knew in doing so I would alert everyone who was even now looking for me to my presence. But a large part of me did not care- I wanted her.
Just then something made me stop and look around- I could feel that someone was watching me. I looked around trying to find this person but I could not see anything and I knew that this distraction would cause me to lose my prey. I focused once again on my prey and sniffed the air, finding her scent. I started to follow her and when I reached her I found her standing in front of an alley.
I moved towards her and looked at her.
"Do you wish to go through there. If so I can accompany you."
"Thank you but I don't need you to help me. I can manage."
"I insist- please let me help you."
She didn't say another word but the two of us walked into the alley where she thought because I was with her she was safe. She was so wrong and I showed her how wrong she was when I pinned her against a wall and bit deep into her neck, revelling in the blood that poured down my throat.
Nikki sat at her dressing table pulling a brush through her hair.
The night was still and the moon shone brightly casting a pool of silver light beneath her window.
The nightlight glowed warmly at the far side of the bed.
Nicola always slept with a light on: A strange hangover from childhood.
She sighed and put down the brush picking up her sketch pad.
Her charcoal pencil made a few light strokes then lifted her head to check if the marks on the paper bore any resemblance of the lights and shadows silhouetted outside her window.
She glanced at the clock and made herself put the drawing down.
She replaced it into the portfolio she was trying to create.
A STUDY OF LIGHT AND DARK
This was her main piece of coursework and was to cover all her disciplines, art, clothes design, sculpture ...
Much of this Spring term was project work around each student's chosen theme.
Sliding under the covers, she gave a wry smile.
Trust her to be thinking of her studies when the evening had supposed to have been a break. Her friends had laughingly insisted that the topic of college assignments and pretended that they'd had to "drag" her out that night!
Settling down with a soft sigh, Nicola closed her eyes and curled up into her habitual foetal positon.
Warm and safe, her mind stopped chasing ideas and became peacefully blank.
Her breathing slowed and soon she had slipped into a deep sleep...
Lelani
Up the stairs she went swiftly and quitely not making a sound as she made her way to her bedroom. She let ther rings and money fall into the drawer next to her bed before looking areound.
The loft was a large one with multiple rooms but her room was the largest of all. Velvets covered the walls and windows and a blacony led outside where she could have a view of the world at night.
Lelani made her way out to the balcony to watch the world. thats when it hit her. Death was in the air. Both human and vampire. Looking down in the ally below she saw it. A vampire feeding. Something was so familiar though about him as he held the young woman. She studied him closely before it hit her...It was Alic.
Many times before had they had a run in, but it was never good. The last time lelani almost lost her immortal life at the hands of this vampire for he did not believe she was good. They also had many fun times as well at the begining of her life as a vampire.
It was he who took her in when she first arrived in Europe so amny years ago after John had turned her. Alic had tried so hard to make her fight for the good. But her cause was lost even so early in the game.
Lelani sat there on the balcony of her loft and watched silently not wanting to disturb the lovely sight of him feeding.
Another ten minutes, and the limo pulled into a small run down hotel. The rank of pimps and prostitues hung low in the air, something between cheap sex and expensive shoes. John got out, heading to the manager's office.
"You seen this man tonight?" John held up a picture, something very old fashioned, one from over a hundred years in the past. It's amazing how similar he still looked like that old farmer he once was.
"Oh yeah, came in with a girl. She was dead tired, he said... brought back the key.
Dead tired... John smiled, Alic was something of a comedian at times, " Can I see it?"
"No, there are policies. I need to see..."
John snapped his fingers. In a moment, the manager's eyes grew slack, his mouth, which had been running on about ID's and proper paperwork, slacked. John moved in close, his lips near the man's ear. Anyone looking in might have thought of them in an embrace.
"The key," As if someone had pressed a button on a robot, the man walked over, grabbed one of the keys from off the rack, where a dozen like it stood, and handed it over.
"It's been a long night," John said, snapping again. That fog over the manager's eyes lifted, "you should get some rest."
"Yeah," The guy said, as if coming out of a deep sleep, "Yeah, I guess I should."
"Goodnight."
Inside the room, he could smell death in the air. She was on the bed, naked, dead. Her limp body looked almost alined, and nothing out of place except for her throat being torn away, and the smell.
Without those two, one might have thought she was sleeping.
John went up to her. Rigor mortis hadn't set in yet. She wasn't stiff. Her muscles were still loose and delicate. Her features were too, strongly feminine. He saw power in this woman, and evil too.
An unexpected bonus from Alic's victim's, the evil inside their heart.
Even after the heart stopped beating, the evil still lurked inside.
He brought his lips to hers, kissing her, "Come back," as he breathed into her, filling her lungs with something other than air, something black and tainted that would have choked her had she not stopped breathing an hour before.
She coughed once, sputtered, her eyes flapping open and close. John cut the side of his neck, letting it drop down into her open mouth. At once, she fed on it, drinking it, grasping for the last darkened pleasure of life with all of her strength.
Cold blood moved through her now. Her own, which had been cold for some time, and now his, even colder, and darker than her own, mixing with hers, combining.
He pulled away, looking at the life being brought back to her. Her skin turned from a dull gray to a livid peach. Her eyes, emerald green, beamed with a dead solace that no one could ever quench. She looked ten times as powerful as she had even when she was alive.
"Goodmorning, my dear," She rose from the bed, still naked, but not caring. Shame had long since been abolished by her side, now only hate and injury were her vocabulary.
"I want you to do something for me. Just one tiny thing..."
She looked at him, wild fire dancing behind her rosy cheeks.
"Alic left you here to die. Yes he did. He saw what was inside you, and he killed you."
She could feel it, in her heart now. A vampire grew in many senses, and this internal eye fished out Alic's feelings, his true reasons for the dinner, and bringing her here, leaving her for dead.
"Go on, kill him. You can find him now. Follow the stench of your own death, it's still ripe on his lips. Make him pay."
She dressed, in the same simple clothing she had taken off earlier in the night. She spoke nothing, words unable to form on her lips, but those eyes said more than enough.
She was out for revenge.
John smiled.
He didn't think she'd actually kill Alic, but she'd put up one hell of a fight, and with any luck, she'd distract him long enough for his own plans to come into focus.
More than anything though, he wanted to show Alic how some things could come back.
He held up the pictures of Nikki back in the limo, leacing his hunter for the night, and driving back around town.
Alic needed to know that sometimes, things came back.
It was a very important lesson to his plans.
I dropped the body to the ground when I felt it, someone was watching me. I could feel it on the back of neck but I couldn't tell where which is what worried me. The only creature in the this world that would give me this feeling was another of my kind. I looked around, trying to find this person but knew that they were like me- so good at hiding.
I looked down at the woman who was still laying there, her eyes eternally staring at me. But that was not what was giving me this feeling- a vampire was here, I could now smell it. I moved away from my victim and said in a voice that was just loud enough for the two of us to hear, "I know you are out there and I know that you are watching me. Come down so that I can see you and if your intentions are not pure then meet your fate."
Magdelena
Maggie sat straight up in bed, the covers dropping from her slender naked form. She had only meant to rest for a short while, but had fallen deeply asleep instead. Although she was grateful for being awakened, she wondered what had roused her. Stopping to focus for a moment, she concentrated and her emerald eyes opened wide. ~Alic! Something is about to happen to him...~ She couldn't quite grasp what it was this time, but just knowing there was something going to happen, made her rush to get dressed. It was as if she had a homing beacon implanted in her body where he was concerned. Even without knowing where he was, she'd find him. He would probably be displeased with her coming to him, particularly if there was trouble afoot, but she didn't care. Maggie loved him, no matter who or what he was.
Pulling on a faded pair of jeans that fit her like a glove and a black tank top with a celtic knot design, she pulled on her sneakers, grabbed her keys and was out the door. Arriving on the street, she paused, closing her eyes and focusing on Alic's face. She knew it so well. Opening her eyes again, she let her feet lead her. There was a certain vibe she could feel in the air, that told her she was headed the right way.
Maggie walked for quite some time, until she reached the shadowed alley where she suddenly knew he was part of the shadows. She couldn't see him yet, but then she heard the low timbre of his voice. She couldn't make out the words, but he was speaking to someone. She moved in closer, waiting to see what would take place, keeping to the shadows herself, although she was certain Alic already knew she was there. It was not him she was concealing herself from, rather the other someone or more that he'd been speaking to. She waited, feeling danger in the air about her.
Liath had been following him for sometime, followed him from the motel with which he entered with a female, only to come out with none. Liath knew who, what he was. She hated them all, vampires were evil to her. Where ever the first was, she can only wish to kill him or her. Rid this world of the beasts forever.
Sadly, that would not happen. Instead, Liath had been tracking this one over the past few days. Her blood ran with theirs, though she was full vampire, purely thankful that she did not have to feed like them. Taking the life of innocence, just leaving them laying everywhere and anywhere only to be found the next day. Still, she was thankful that she carried their senses, her abilitly to at least hide and was able to smell their deadly scent, see in the pitchness of black as they did.
Other than that, she was merely a mortal to them, to the older ones her scent would be the same as theirs. Untill it's too late, they would find out she was not a pure bred. None the less a hunter.
Liath stood just under 6ft, raven black hair. Silver katana at her side, made just for killing the devils children of the night. As well as a pistol in the pockets of her long, black leather duster. Thick braid made her hair the length of her back. Peircing blue eyes filled with no regret, no remorse. Filled with pure hatred for his kind.
"It depends what you mean by not pure... For I feel taking the life of the innocent is not pure. Does this mean, you meet your own fate?"
Stepped out of the shadows to face him. Held no weapons as of yet, though they wouldn't be hard to yeild within a second of movment. Liath may not have their speed, nor their strength. She did although, know how to fight them.
Nicholas Sharp
Age: Unknown
Race: Pure blood Vampire
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 175lbs
Hair: Long White hair
Eyes: Crimson Red
Nicholas looks down from the high rooftop, he sees the world pass him by and he can only smirk. He has lived for a long time, so long he cant even remember how long. He was a vampire, but he lived like ghost. No one ever saw him, he moved like the wind and his white hair looked like a passing cloud of smoke as he traveled the streets. The werid thing about Nicholas was that he had wings of black, it was not a common trait of vampires, but he had them. He learned of some magic to hide them and he revealed them not to the world. He picked his Katana and he strapped it to his side and wondered what his next move would be.
“Well night sky, what should I do next.”
He heard of other vampires walking these same streets and he even smelt there blood down there and he wondered what was going on. Why were there so many vampires about this night. Was a war about to start, Nicholas had been through battles and wars, but he always stayed neutral through them. What would happen now? He pulled his black duster closed and he straightened his dark black sunglasses and looked to the moon and he smiled. He patted his back and felt his two handguns holstered there and sighed at the thought of another fight.
John leaned over against the rooftop, putting one foot on the edge, and looking all the way down to the ground.
"What a height? Eh? You could see on forever up here."
He didn't think he startled the vampire. The man didn't look like he could be startled. He had the look of a man with open senses, and constantly watching his back. Nontheless, John did smile, looking at the man with potential.
"Nicholas, right? My name is John... John Terrance. I don't know you. You seem old, not some newbie just plucked off the streets, but I usually know all of the older ones. Hmmm, how odd? Are you new in the city?"
John had thought of this as his city for awhile now, and kept track of all the purebred sludge inside it. Like cattle, he had his little book of vampires, both old and new. This one, however, he didn't know all that well. He had to ask around just to get a name. Was this one quiet, or perhaps something else?
It pleased him greatly that no one knew him. It meant if he did anything, no one would automatically trace it back to John himself. That was a great advantage for one to have.
"I was wondering, actually, if I can cut through the pleasentries for a moment, if you could do something for me? Perhaps help me out in getting back at an old friend? Nothing too hard, mind you, just something simple and easy. I can reward you, money is no object, but then kinds like ourselves rarely need money. You can ask for something bigger, something better from me? I have connections, I could make just about anything within reason happen."
It was a bit of a longshot, and John himself had no problem with that. This man could go on about his way, or decide maybe to help the cause. That would be nice, to have him under John's belt. Unlike the newbie, who was, at this point, walking passed the shadows towards her former lover, and potential victim, this one had the strength and the smarts to be reckoned with.
If John could use that, than everything would be golden.
He gave Nick a sly and superficial smile, "What do you say?"
Lelani
"I know you are out there and I know that you are watching me. Come down so that I can see you and if your intentions are not pure then meet your fate." His voice called into the night
A laugh escaped her throat as she watched and thought back of the last time. It was amazing the way that time did repeat itself.
"I'm up here love, recognize me?" her hand made a delicate waving gesture towards him as she watched him spin around and look up at her standing on the balcony. "I almost look mortal, don't I? Alic, It's been so long almost a hundred years. 'm surprised you didn't sense me when you first walked into my ally"She gigled in amusement as she stood stunned at her presence
Nicholas
He felt the presence of the other man a long while ago, he didn’t really care that he had come up there, because Nicholas was like a ghost. He could be seen when he wanted to be seen and when he didn’t want to be seen he would vanish into the night.
“I don’t know you either and I did not offer my name to you, for you can call me a Ghost, cause that is all I am.”
At that being said, his image faded into mist and he was gone. But you saw he was sitting on top of the shack on the roof looking down at you.
“Since you know of my name and I now know yours, I feel it fit to tell you that my business here is none of your concern. I do as I please and go where I want, for no one ever notices me. If this is your town, I will not mess with it, I only wish to travel free of burden.”
He heard his request and he only shook his head. Again he vanished and this time appeared at the side of the man called John, with his silver handgun aimed at his head.
“You want me to help you? How do you know you can trust me to not shoot you now? I only wish to be free of burden, you want me to kill someone for you.. is that not correct?”
He looked to him with is black duster flowing in the night wind and he only smiled at him.
“I may want to help you.”
He lowered his gun and holstered it. Through his dark sunglasses you saw nothing, but he was thinking.
“What is the job you want done? After I know the full story, I will than decided on whether or not to help you. And no money is not needed for me For I have everything I need.”
He waited for him to tell him the whole story.
So, did this man want to play tricks? Dancing around like some baffoon in order to prove some kind of point? John took it in stride, letting the vampire be proud of his own gifts. Those gifts could be used to his advantage, and at the moment, aside from being a little irritating, he wasn't doing anything wrong.
"Fair enough. I don't want you to kill anyone, at least not yet. Death is almost a pleasure when it comes to the long years of pain one must live. That is what I want over all, an old enemy of mine to experience the pain of everlasting life with nothing more than his shadow. In that sense, I wish to hire you."
John sighed for a moment, cocking his head to one side. The city below them slept like some bumbling bear, hibernating and waiting for the blazing sun to come back up, to escape the grasp that darkness held now over the quiet city, like a blanket of newfallen snow.
"Alic knows most of my men, old associates and the like. I can't send anyone knew, cause they lack... hmmm, how should I put it? They lack finesse and grace. No one knows you, and that's my greatest advantage. I want you to do nothing more, than find a woman and become her friend."
John gave a little smile, trying not to show too many teeth.
"I don't know much about the woman myself. Her name is Maggie Peterson. She has red hair, green eyes, and live in the city. I don't have much else information."
John held out a picture of her, something recent, and very fitting to the woman. It showed someone who was so bright and filled with life.
"You can find her, I think best, through a man named Alic. He's an old vampire, one who wanders the street looking for something that he lost. Don't let him notice you though. That would ruin everything. For now, just get to know Maggie, get her to trust you, maybe even love you. That's your first step. After that? I don't know, I may have you kill her, I may even just have you turn her and then send her off to some other country. I don't know just yet."
A simple design, nothing too complicated. If he had all of these different allies going toward Alic at one time, maybe the man would miss one, and John could get through. Lelani with Alic, himself with the new reincarnate, and this new stranger with Maggie. Yes, at one point Alic's defenses would crumble, and then he'd be there to watch the shards fall.
"Well, Ghost, you know the story, or at least enough of it that concerns your part. You don't have to help, if you do not want. You may travel through this city, untouched by any of my men, whether you say yes or no. The decision is yours."
Suddenly I realized who this person who had been watching me was, it was Lelani. She had come to me years ago seeking friendship and help and then she had taken all I had given her, all I had taught her and corrupted it. I hated her for that- I truly hated her and I knew that eventually we would have to fight and one of us would die but I knew that it would not be this night as there was something else, someone else.
I turned and looked in the direction of this newcomer.
"My fight is not with you. Please leave now for I do not wish to kill you."
I knew that she would not leave me be, something by the way that she was watching me and the way she moved told me that she was ready to fight and kill. I then remembered what she said, "She was far from innocent.... if you know who I am you know I do not hunt the innocent."
The other vampire was a bit of a shock, something didn't seem right about this at all.
"Perhaps this isn't my fight, but it will be another time.... Assuming you live through this one."
Liath knew he would, something told her that he was stronger than this other one. The intensity between the two was strong and told her that she should leave.
"I can only hope that you do not hunt the inocence. We shall meet again."
She looked up to the other vampire, she didn't even seem to notice Liath there. If she did, payed no mind to her. Within a moment Liath was gone, was far enough that they wouldn't notice her to much, close enough to watch the two and find out who was indeed stronger. With her luck they would kill eachother, it was an impossible hope. It was there none the less.
"He didn't wish to kill me? If he only knew what I was... ... Or did he?
Staying hidden within the shadows, she watched. A bit intrigued by this female vampire, an old love of his perhaps? If a vampire can truly love someone... To Liath they were all the same, cold hearted beast that deserved to be at rest. Lost souls that haunt this world, aching to be set free by her blades and gun.
Yes, her bullets would kill a vampire, they held the sunlight within them, giving the bullets a blue glowing look to them, liquid inside that would seep into their veins in an instant. Burning them like just as the direct sun would.
For now, instead, she would watch this battle a little amused.
~~~~~ OOC I forget what they called it, but the bullet idea is from a movie I saw.. Underworld... The werwolves had these bullets to kill the vampires. Radiation or something.. Just to letcha know.. ~
