I hear about this on the news today, caught just the tag end of the story. It seems a cruise ship was attacked off the coast of Somalia but got away with no injuries. Has anyone heard about this?

I didn't want to insult her, though.

I'm not too bright.
Neither were the pirates.

Glad only the one person got hurt, though.

Damn,

Thanks all.

Seems like this would be an area the cruise ships would avoid.

Glad it ended in an okay-ish way. :rose:

But I'm sure I've seen this movie. ;)

Probably. However, logisitics or the selling of an "adventure cruise" may dictate otherwise.

I understand what you're saying but somehow the idea of logistics just doesn't quite cut it. What would save them more money? Paying the extra fuel charges, or paying for the lawsuits when some of their passengers or crew gets holed by an R.P.G.?

As for an adventure cruise, why not set them ashore for half a day?

Seems to me that more people should be trained and well armed.

The cruise ship was 100 miles at sea when they were attacked. Now the powers that be are recommending 150 miles at sea. The entire coast of Somalia is now recognized as a totally lawless area. Apparently civilization has abandoned a part of the world to bandits.

By the way, the cruise was not an adventure cruise.
