Saw the Neurologist yesterday. He's fairly convinced the faints are down to stress-related migranes, and has prescribed preventative medication (Topiramate) on an increasing dosage; 15mg for a week, 25mg the next then 50mg onward. This is on top of the Fluoxetine and constant-dose Pill.
The problem is, none of these drugs agree with each other. Topiramate reduces the efficacy of the Pill and can cause depressive episodes, so I'm back to square one - the horrific periods will come back and so will the mood swings. The Neurologist wants to deal with the faints first, but he's also banned me from taking any painkillers because they can exascerbate migranes. So what the hell do I do? Its like I'm taking the damn antidepressants just to counteract the preventatives!
