Health Insurance

The premiums on my health insurance just increased by 22%. It was predicted that premiums would increase when Obamacare was signed into law, and so they have. Anybody else feel this increase?

O'Reilly on Fox announced that his premiums had gone up 21% because of the new healthcare law.

This is a long term, complex and complicated issue concerning medical insurance.

I suggest that it began, in earnest, with the FDR imposition of Social Security taxes on the entire population and the more than half century long quest by Democrats to provide universal healthcare to all.

It is also a women's issue, as a vast majority of medical requirements deal with women, giving birth, child care, et cetera.

It is not unreasonable for young people to believe that government health care, as they are taxed in every weekly pay envelope, for medicare and social security, is a beneficial government or social program for the betterment of all.

In America, since our inception, we have perceived ourselfs as self independent; making plans for our own retirement and medical concerns.

The Europian socialist model of putting government in control of 'entitlement' claims, medical care and retirement pensions, has become the ideal situation for those who relegate the individual to a status of contributor to the overall general welfare of the population.

When one looks realistically at government controlled medical services, it becomes a sad joke on all. Why not, they say, cover Viagra for aging hippies, why not Botox for Nancy Pelosi and all who want to stay young forever, why not breast enhancement or diminishment, if all is covered under universal healthcare...who sets the standards?

Politics...lobbyists, corruption, fraud and bribery, those become the standards on a national level as in England and Canada...so what if they really do have death panels to save money sustaining the elderly or not saving the pre term babies...it is a matter of cost versus results.

This is a new era in human existence...we have to deal with it.
