Bernie Sanders, independent Soviet Socialist senator from Vermont, who has been Elizabeth Warren-ing since the actual Elizabeth Warren was lecturing Wall Street bankers IN HER DIAPERS, will announce his candidacy for the presidency, as a Democrat, on Thursday. Sanders appears to be running on a platform of “seriously, okay, Hillary, you’re going to be president and that’s fine, but could we possibly turn this god-dang ship to the left?”

Sanders’ basic message will be that the middle class in America has been decimated in the past two decades while wealthy people and corporations have flourished. […]

“If you want to understand why the middle class in America is disappearing and why we have more wealth and income inequality in America than we have had since the late 1920s, you have to address the issue of trade,” Sanders said in a phone interview on April 23. […]

“All of the major corporations want to continue with this trade policy. Wall Street wants to continue this trade policy. The drug companies want to continue this trade policy. But organizations representing American workers and the environment do not want to continue the trade policy. They want new trade policies,” he said.

So let's "Fast Track" the Pacific trade deal?

The Trans-Pacific Partnership will likely go through with bi-partisan support and little to no media coverage or organized opposition.

First off, workers' organizations in the US have been withering, a trend unlikely to be reversed in the next 18 months.
Second off, without a celebrity sextape, a reality show, some d-lister has-been transitioning genders, or the RW outrage machine doing what it does best, the average voter is unlikely to know or care.

And third, trade deals have, since the end of WW2, been the international carrot the US waves , with the power of the US military playing the 'stick'.

It's significant the PRC is NOT part of the proposed TPP. It is also significant that the 12 nations involved (Canada, USoA, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore , Malayasia, Brunei, Vietnam, & Vietnam) are a full 36% of the global economy.

If Bernie can push Hillary to the left, won't that make the Repubs shift even further to the right?

I imagine that Mitch will look real good in his SS (Senior Senator) uniform saluting President in Extreama, Cruz after the putsch:eek:.

or:

Hilz head explodes when the Wall Street types object to her calling for transaction fees on financial manipulations and limits on the size of banks that can access the Federal Reserve for liquidity?

Leaving the Demos with only one electable candidate, Liz Warren. who reluctantly accepts the nomination, but only if Bernie is her Vice President!

KO "I don't see how that is possible. "

We haven't even had the Night of the Broken Glass yet, give it time.

I don't see how that is possible.

An argument from personal incredulity is a known logical fallacy.

Besides, I can think of several ways for the right wing to be more right wingy (which is not to say sensible or sane)
