Okay, my immediate question is not a story idea, per se, but the topic has always sparked many new ideas to brew within my mind! So, that said, here's the question:

Does anyone know when HBO and Showtime will start their fall season? Mainly, I am awaiting Queer as Folk, The L Word, and Big Love.

Seriously, too, when I'd sit and watch those shows millions of ideas would start churning in my mind. Some would have been my spin off of a scene I'd see on one of the shows, and some were totally new ideas I never would have thought of had it not been for the show.

Anyone else ever get inspiration from shows they enjoy watching? :)

Nah, I'm not really into writing fan-fictions; I prefer to create my own characters. Always afraid of butchering the ones I like, see. :)

I have, however, thought of a series of stories that are kinda-sorta based on the whole premise. It is, *ahem* on this Story Ideas board. Not that I'm hint-hinting or anything. :D

I didn't mean fan fic, per se. I was asking about ideas that may stem from shows, not their characters.

I know this is going to sound weird, but I just finished the first part of a series of stories based off a John Wayne western, not really any in particular, though El Dorado is the closest.

With my own little perverted twists of course.

See, instead of following John Wayne around most of the time, it centers on the woman in love with him, who happens to be working in a bordello. Both are bounty hunters and there is sex of course, but not between them, at least not yet. ;)

Also a sort of fan fic story is awaiting approval, though not of a movie or show, instead it's a fan fic of a common BDSM fantasy, woman goes on a photo shoot and is forced into submitting.

Which one?

Anyway, the photo shoot one got rave reviews from my editor, and it took her quite a while to finish editing it, partly because of personal reasons, and mostly because she kept getting distracted by her hand. ;)

Well, both sounded cool. :) But you said "this may sound odd..." And I thought something like a "romantic western" where the story line follows the woman more so was cool.

Big Love gives me ideas sometimes. Particularly about what happens if Bill changed religions and started becoming sexually looser. You know, maybe some Sapphic fun among the wives, adding the son and his girlfriend (who is very hot). Maybe adding the oldest daughter too.

Even if he stayed a Mormon Fundamentalist, however, there's plenty of ideas. Particularly regarding Margie enticing Nicki and Barb to get along better by means of a seduction. After all, they do sometimes refer to themselves as being married to the sister-wives as well as Bill. :D

Yes, they do tell the other women that they love each other and say how they're married to the sister wives. I never gave polygamy much thought before I saw that show. (And I'm hooked on the show. They really have had an interesting story line going on.) Lots of room for fan fic within that show. And I certainly have gotten ideas of poly family (characters) of my own. :)

Neat.

Well funny you should mention that, it is a romantic western. ;)

On another note, darn lit is being slow with the other one, still pending.

Well, god luck with both hon. I'm sure they'll be wonderful. :)

And, back to my first question. Does anyone know when HBO and Showtime start their new fall season? lol

Sugar Rush. Only half an hour but bever fails to get me thinking about something new.

Weeds new episode

Deadwood is cool too. So is Weeds, I think. And Rome. :D

I like Weeds a lot too. I dunno about the other shows, but Weeds is on Showtime and they had a new episode air Monday night. That's also a good show for story ideas...the sex on the car with the drug dealing dude was hot.

I should have said earlier, the season openers are happening last week, this week and next week on all stations. HBO I think has them this week.

Suppose I should mention lit finally accepted The Photo Shoot last night, you can fid it in the new stuff or just by going to my home page if your really adventurous. ;)
