I'm done with them. They've locked 10 of my accounts. I'm not creating any more.

Screw Facebook, I'm done.

I never joined. From day one, the information they required was too intrusive. Didn't need 'em; haven't missed 'em.

Nope, I am still there. I am mainly in groups and use their calendar and reminder system.
I didn't give them much information so I am not worried about their intrusiveness.

I try to go there every two to three months to see what my old friends are up to being as they are scattered across the country...them that are still alive that is.

You give more info paying by card at the Mickey D drive-thru.

As I recall, Facebook wanted my phone number. I don't typically give out my phone number. Not that it's unlisted. I'm in the book. But Facebook didn't NEED it. So fuck 'em. The idea wasn't to protect information that is already unprotected. It was simply not to proliferate it further and to make intrusion easier for those who Facebook clearly wanted to sell the information to. It wasn't worth it to me to play. When I see the value in the interchange of information for services rendered, I play.

For example, the folk's at the Arches only ask for my order and my money. And I always pay cash.

Too many online organisations want my phone number. Like you, my number is in the book. But they don't need it. I'm partially deaf and have difficulty hearing even on my adapted phone. I can usually understand relations and friends who know about my deafness and adapt their speech for me.

But foreign call centres speaking oddly accented English? They aren't going to make any sense to me. Even UK accents can give me problems.

I gave them the phone number of the local FBI office. I used that address too.

I'm still there. I find it a useful way of keeping track of a wide circle of acquaintances and former neighbors. Facebook contains a fair amount of my personal information and I don't really care. I'm neither paranoid nor a privacy freak.

Technology is scary.

you know, i fucking hate facebook, but this dumbass is whining about the fact that they're banning him for being a lying, piece of shit troll with multiple alts so fuck him.

and i hate facebook more because it's just a fucking way to connect people to advertisers and all the pain in the ass notifications every time anyone know even thinks about maybe posting than anything privacy related.

Seems like Facebook has left you.

I never understood why anyone wanted be there unless you couldn't seem to figure out how to send out an email with multiple contacts.

Yeah, who needs social media and a way to communicate with other people from around the world. Kinda like the fucking site you're on now, brainiac.

Yeah, I think Christobal's point was that the internet IS social media and that email and "this fucking site" (and many like it) are more than sufficient to "communicate with other people from around the world" so that exercising one's free right to consciously choose between media outlets and web portals based upon the various requirements for admission is imminently reasonable.

Brainiac. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Denny

For years family and friends have begged us to join Facebook.
The closest I've gotten is open links off other sites to photos by friends. Some of those only open to Facething members so I just do without their photos. You see one 1950 Buick and you've seen em all!

However is it a coincidence? I bought a new computer tower with Windows 10. Now I get SPAM from everyplace.

Thanks for making my point that I had already made, Skippy.

Why would you need 10 accounts?

I still have them but don't post near like I used to. Mainly keep it for when I go on vacation and because everything uses FB to login.
