Have you heard the latest bullshit on why women action figures are sold separately?

It's excuses bingo time!

Rey:
Rey is too popular, so she's too bankable to be included with the other characters. (NEWS FLASH, so is Finn, but he's included!)
She's the main character. (NEWS FLASH, so is Finn!)

Black Widow:
She's not a main character.
She's not popular enough.

So if a woman is too popular or the main character, she can't be included in the ensemble, but if she's not popular or "main character" enough, she can't be included

because

RATIONALIZATIONS!!!

So what does it take to get a woman included in an action figure box set?

Was Christmas morning unsatisfying for you, LT?
Nice troll job. I am an actual collector of Star Wars stuff. Especially now that they've got this new character in the series and I have 3 daughters who are currently star struck over seeing a woman headlining the franchise.

You'll find a lot of Star Wars' profits are coming from new children / adult female fans. It was a crazy smart move to put Rey in there from a profit perspective.

Rey is the new Luke Skywalker, she is an instant classic, she will be remembered even more fondly than he was, and she will be a top female role model for future female characters. Take all of that to the bank, remember I told you so. And if you see her action figures on store shelves... grab two or three per child in your household. One or two to auction in their golden years, one to keep.

Same goes for Finn, really, as long as they don't keep doing the "safe negro" bullshit they did to him in the first movie. Regardless, a Finn toy is going to be like a Rey toy in 40 years - they will sell well in auctions. So get one of each, dude.

He has to get his action somehow. :(
That's funny coming from the guy who bought a full sized Starkiller mockup to shove up his ass

oh no I lied, your head is already up there, there'd be no room!

Ultimately it takes a shit ton of feminists and boys who want to be girls for females to get sold with action figure sets. Good job on defeating yourself though.

You do know that if everyone rushes out to buy and hold the dolls, then they will be of little value.

You should spend the next two years buying as many of them as you can and destroy them.

;) ;)

Is there an av blocker here I don't know about? Not sure how else he could have you confused with a guy.

Hey, for the record, I have no issue with grown men, even very short ones, purchasing Star Wars action figures. I'm just not sure it's an issue worthy of multiple exclamation points and special big-ass type.

He must have done a quick edit.

Why was Rey not included in the Monopoly game?

I do not have a problem with anyone buying collectibles either. I have 3 girls as well, and they love Rey, and I'm glad there's a great female character, that doesn't lessen the BS in the OP.

It's part of a much larger whole. They keep excluding women from ensemble action figure toy lines.

Even JJ Abrams agrees with me at least in that this whole exclusion behavior is horseshit.

The same thing was done to Black Widow.

Nope. That was intentional. You got your head totally lodged up your ass.

What BS? Nothing I said was wrong. Look above, even JJ Abrams, the director of the fucking movie, is protesting what Hasbro did.

Get a clue.

Why do you think I brought up the Monoply game?

Good golly.

Actually that's incorrect and nearly tanked the Comic industry before. It's simply piss poor planning.

Unlike the vast majority of female wannabe victim progressives and their femboy enablers here on the GB, Rey's natural individualism only gains gender identity through the eyes of those same bigots.

LOL. Bullshit.

Hasbro said she wasn't in the game because it was made before the release of the movie and Disney didn't want anything that might be a spoiler put out.
They said she'd be in future editions.

It's a marketing ploy to make the figure more sought after and worth more and women aren't always the one left out, but it happens a lot.

When I had the store and Marvel legends figures were big you had to order a case, the case came with twelve figures. You would get three of one two of others and maybe one of the one designed to be sought after therefore worth more and driving the collectibles market.

They also made 'variant' figures and you might or might not get one in a case-to entice you to order more cases- and those could go for as high as $100 for a $10 figure.

When GI Joe came back with figures in 80's and they were the 3-4" size(not the old school Joes) the hardest to find was Scarlett and she's worth a pretty penny still on her card

As for why females are left out, my theory-and mine, nothing to prove it-is action figures still might actually be played with:eek: they are not just for adults to collect:eek::eek: in which case its still mostly boys buying them and they want the guy figures not the girls(unless they are precocious and into gang rape fantasies so thee's that too.

This doesn't really make much sense because the toymaker isn't getting the increased value, Joe Geek is.

But they are toys not collectables and lots of little boys don't want to play the girl. It's that bloody simple. It's only now that they are starting to get enough collectors behind them to kinda change that dynamic but then they almost stop doing what most "collectors" want which is a valuable collection.

Not true.

Joe Geek is the aftermarket, scouring stores for that elusive figure to put on E-bay and make the big bucks.

But the manufacturer does benefit because as I said, retailers-not big ones like Wl-mart-they don't care, but specialty shops will order double the cases to try to land that figure. So it does help them too

When I had the store my wife and I would hit all the wal-mart and Targets looking for the rare figures because they just put everything out.

They did(maybe still do I've been out of the new comic game awhile now) variant covers which were on ein every ten and sold for $15 to collectors as opposed to the 2.99 cover price.

Newbury comics is a chain so when the new comics came out they tossed everything on the shelves, my wife would be there right when they opened to sntach the rare ones off the shelf so we could sell them for more on e-bay

Dog eat dog world in the comic collectible market.

Yes, I read that. But, but, but it's some grand conspiracy you see.

That excuse is weaker than that time when Bill Clinton asked what 'is' means.
