Have you got sprayed?

Being a non resident of the US could you tell me what the West Niles is ?

I gather it is some form of airborne/insect borne disease but what kind etc etc.

Strange I haven't caught anything about it in the International news, not even on CNN,I'd have thought it'd get at least a blurb if it is widespread.
Or at least something that's spread over an area as big as a State.

No, but my dogs did!

Seems like once a year, they forget what a skunk is! FUCKTARDS!

More seriously, too late, it's already been through here. I think it killed my cats.

I dunno.

I would assume so.

When I was driving down south this past week end,I saw them spraying in Virginia.

We've been hosed down a couple of times a week all summer long. No big deal.

Of course, my neighbor's dog glows in the dark now.

Spraying is de riguer here in Houston -- mosquito control isn't just for West Nile virus. We are built on swamp, after all.

I don't do my news looking online,I prefer it TV style, only in dire emergencies do I look on the net.

I prefer my news a bit more "in depth" than the TV provides -- Headline news has had some comment about the spread of the West Nile virus every day for the last two months but haven't provided any real information on it. I tend to look up the complete story online once the "news" gives me a hint that there is something worth looking up.

i was hoping this would not be about boring west nile...

with LL at the helm here I had higher hopes for a nice sexual adventure so early in the morning...

ah well...:p

That's a different thread, please don't cross post.

No, THAT one said "spaded." I thought it was a reference to a very bad slur for blacks somehow so I didn't open it.

BBC World news is probably the best news service you can get. CNN is like an endless commercial only good for headlines.

I'm guessing they're too cheap to set out mosquito eaters.
What an utter waste of money.

They used to spary along time ago, like years and years. they havent recently to my knowledge. But with the late frost the mosquito population is almost nil here. I think I've been bitten maybe a total of 3 times all summer, and that was with my week long camping trip. So I have a feeling they are not worried about spraying here.

Hamletmaschine:
“Can you get those mosquito eaters at Wal-Mart?”

I think you can get the smaller versions, if you wanted enough to take care of an entire community you’d need to special order the industrial size ones.

Yep, BBC has the reputationof being the best available news service. Unfortunately that doesn't mean I can get it -- my cable system doesn't carry it.

Yes, we'll buy bug zappers! Hundreds of them! Really long bug zappers...

Ya, whatever he said, that's whats happening here!!
Bad year for mosquitos.

It's been a REAL bad year for them here. We're in yet another drought!

I have not been sprayed in years. All it took was a couple of wet shirts to understand that a baby boy can hit a moving eyeball from twenty feet if you aint carefull when changing his diaper.
