Have you ever wanted to "Dope Slap" someone?

Have you ever wanted to walk up to a person and give them a wake up "Dope Slap" upside the head?

I ran into a couple today that I had to turn and walk away from before I did just that.

She is a younger woman with Breast Cancer. It was caught early and is being treated aggresivly so her prognosis is outstanding. She went through the surgery with no problems. Then she started the Chemo-Therapy and Radiation treatments.

She, as well as her husband had received the usual warnings about getting pregnant during the treatments.

She got pregnant. She chose to keep the child even though the chances of birth defects are nearly 100%. Then the fetus spontaneously aborted. (She had to come into the hospital to have it removed surgicly.)

She has informed all and sundry that it is against her religeon to use Birth Control. (Okay I can deal with that.)

Then they made the comment that it was Gods will that she became pregnant. It was their duty to try and become pregnant so they had tried. In other words they had actually tried to get her pregnant even though they knew the risks.

Now they are threatening to sue the Hospital and her Doctor because she lost the Fetus.

I would love to "Dope Slap" both of them. (Actually I would love to see them both sterilized.)

This is a case that as a judge I would look and say...

"Let me see if I understand this correctly... Chemo and Radiation therapy is an attempt to kill the cancer faster than we kill the host, right?"

Doctor: Basically.

"Let me see if I understand this correctly... you (the patient and husband) believe killing a fetus is murder, right?"

Patient and Pee: Yes.

"Okay... I see no other choice then... bailiff, take the patient and her husband away, they've confessed to murder. Doctor, get back to work."

I'd like the slap a set of parents I know. They had five children. They don't believe in discipline. They believe in a child's right to freedom of expression.
The eldest has completed school, got entry to uni and decided he was going to transfer to another uni where the social life was better but neglected to check with the uni first. So he's now trying to sue because he hasn't got a place.
The second son is 16 and on remand pending sentence for assault occasioning bodily harm (he threw angle grinder wheels at a 9 year old girl). He is also the prime suspect (ie he did it, the cops can't quite prove it) in the burning down of an amenities block in the park and a string of other thug moron behaviour. If he ducks it this time he should be in jail by the time he's 18 at the latest.
The elder daughter died at 15. She was epileptic and drowned in the bath. Her parents thought her privacy more important than her health.
The third son is 13 and currently under suspension from school (the entire town is running a book on how long it will take him to be expelled - he's only been there one term)
The youngest, a daughter, is 10 and, so far, managing to stay out of major trouble.

Dope slapping would do no good. There is obviously brain damage already. Just becaue your religion says no birth control doesn't mean you must have sex and try to get pregnant during one of the most precarious times for you and the potential fetus. That's just... *sigh*

ETA: And may I just say that most Catholics I know use birth control anyway, my parents included. The rational being that if God really wants you to get pregnant, ain't nothing gonna stop it.

I would have done it. I know myself enough. I would have slapped them both over and over again and screamed and yelled. I have no tolerance or temper for that kind of massive stupidity. Just looking at them and thinking about the young life at stake would send me into fits of trembling rage, I just know it. It's a good thing I don't work in a hospital. Can't you call Child Services or Family Welfare or whoever on these imbecilic monsters?
