Think about the number of bridges in China and the number of people who live around them. 11 since April is still a goodly number, I hope it is way above average.
But if this depression/resession thing keeps getting worse, China's exports are going to drop like a stone.
But as my army buddy use to say, "Cheer up, It could be worse, it could be raining!" I remember he said that as the monsoon swept up fromthe South China Sea and began to pour rain for two months.
Personally I've wonder what motivates a person to attempt suicide in a public area? Statistically the odds of being successful are not very promising. But that may be their reasoning, they know they will be unsuccesssful yet gain the attention they are seeking. Or are they doing it so people will witness their death and they feel these witnesses will mourn them? Strange indeed............
Why do people so often commit suicide in public? How many private bridges do you guys own? To tell the truth, I've considered suicide as a "solution" in my younger years (younger than the 32 I'm about to become) and while I'm past the problem and glad I never went through with it, I've got to be honest. In the waning hours of weighing methods, you ask yourself how to do it. Shoot yourself? Effective, but pulling the trigger is hard, and your last second in life is something you don't even feel. Overdose? Lay around and wait to lose consciousness? How many people like to wait? Jumping off some high object, the rush of falling, the adrenaline. Yeah, if you're gonna go, do it with a rush.
What I wonder is this: If the guy was on the edge of the bridge, ready to jump, why did he turn and shake the old dude's hand? ANd if you have hold of his hand, why not pull him away rom the edge instead of pushing him off?
